i had an 86′ xj6 when i was 18…. good driving car when it ran.. it
developed so many issues … so i ended up selling it.. but i saved the
hood emblem 🙂 but now i know why my grandfather sold it to me for only
$500 lol
01:58 Dont like your comment. I had xj40 in age 20, bought it with my
money, plus stype bought it at age 25. Its not something with what you are
proud what car you have at what age…. Tnx for info for plugs…
Excellent video, well done. Good that you included the gasket part nos as
well. Great that you are sooooooh proud of your Jaaaaaag – and so you
should be,she’s a lovely car.
thank you for that video im 25 with a 2000 type s got it when i was 24 and
every thing on it is so damn high to get fixed , and nobody would tell me
how to work on it
Great Video buddy thank you for that, mine is a 2.5 sport but it appears
very similar – gave it a go but misfire is still there, computer shows no
fault so I am a little puzzled lol, but again thanks for putting this up it
helped a lot.
@TENNSUMITSUMA IMHO It’s a lazy way to speak because not all the letters
are properly pronounced. Some English people replace a ‘T’ with a glottal
stop and some Americans omit the ‘T’ or replace it with a ‘D’ – very
strange. Examples : baddery (battery) and innernet (internet). So what
nationality are you Rainstorm GB ?
g’day rainstormGB thanks for your Vid, i actually follow everystep you did
and found that was very helpful, but when i come to the end the gasket i
order(XR8 5398 genuine parts) it look so different,, so i was chicken out
to change it,, is that ok to chages that parts in to it( i did not see the
vid when you change it,, please inform me it is ok to change it even so it
looks different thanks again matey
When you have the plugs out check to insure there is no traces of oil on
the outside of the plug. Many of these plug holes are central located with
the valve cover surrounding them, if the gasket seal fails the plug hole
will fill with engine oil. Great video so far M8! By the by, I cut my teeth
on E type Jags way back when…. yep I am THAT old HAHAHA
@CTOL1 yep u are right i talk about that in part 2 my no1 plug had leaked a
little should be ok for a little bit but i will have to change the cam
cover gasket at some point 🙁 more work u must have worked on cars ? thats
why i got an s type they look like the old jags i love the older styling i
dont really like the look of the new jags 🙁
Nice wheels. I read don’t wash the volcano dust into the paint work make
sure you SOAK the car to get as much off as poss. My spuds are growing fast
as hell :o) (I am learning put in on good friday but not sure how long til
eating)
Does it drive ok now? The new gaskets look like a different shape. Why did
you change the sparks in the first place? Was it running rough? Thanks for
sharing that. It was a great help.
You know your number one plug could be the source of the reason you felt
the need to replace the plugs to begin with? Was the engine having a
stumble now and then?
