I was watching this with my 6 year old grandson guys. I was explaining your
methods up until the “F bombs” began! Which is where I stopped it. Thanks a
lot for spoiling what was at first very enjoyable and informative.
Completely ruined it. It was going to be a thumbs up but now it’s a thumbs
down!

shodanxx says:

Great vid ! Have you made a video to show how to do those with the harder
plastic ? I have a 2002 altima that’s cracked the bumper. But I think it’s
kind of flexible sort of bumper.

misterscreenprint says:

thanks…great info and video…just wish the ‘language’ was left out. no
offense.

Sir Bomb says:

I went for the zip tie stitch method because my bumper was cracked right in
half, into about 4 pieces actually. Looks like frankenstein now, but it’s
back on the car at least.

Chevy Nova says:

What about the Mesh?

arakuzi says:

will crack open at first light impact, you should put a sticker saying
“don’t use an automatic car washer” LOL…..if you want to do it right you
must use a fiber mesh reinforcement patch….BTW, this bumper is not made
out of rubber either…

killerjhul says:

Lining up the front seems like it’d make this a bit easier and more
aesthetically pleasing.

brad beh says:

I do bodywork for a living and do it a completely different way. Much
cheaper and faster….I use sheet steel patches cut from a 50 foot roll at
the local hardware store. I drill holes through the steel held up to the
bumper and fasten things together with steel pop rivets. If done carefully,
just grind the rivet heads smooth and go right to your Dura Glass and
fillers. You can fix just about anything, replace missing chunks and not
have to remove the cover or wait for anything to dry. Another plus is it
costs practically nothing to do. I have repaired hundreds of bumper covers
this way and have never had one complaint or comeback. Not one.

Miroslav Vesic says:

you dont have idea

Ken White says:

Right. How about this instead – clean the whole fucking thing first (so
lazy) and then, now this is the important part –
LINE UP THE PART IN THE FRONT FIRST DUMBASS, and then tape it.
Tape it from the front like someone who is precise, who gives half a shit
about what they are doing.
Use a wider, stronger tape like gaffers tape.

THEN flip it over and glue the back.

This is considered a ‘repair’ because it restores the item to its original
condition aesthetically.
What you’ve done is called spilling glue onto dirty plastic. Also, since a
headlight or fog lamp will be installed onto the back of that piece, try to
minimize the amount of glue used so that the pieces which remain to be
installed might still fit in there.

Hey Pete, love your videos man! Really appreciate all the work you do, to
get them to us. Please give my thanks to your son for his service! May God
bless him and all the guys and gals laying it all on the line!!

jaymie regan says:

Will this work with a 2012?

Ronald van Kemenade says:

After applying the glue, I would be tempted to sink a piece of fine mesh
metal in it. Good idea/bad idea?

Matt Cullum says:

This guy is screaming at the camera, I’m also sensing he is such an up
tight, on the edge guy. He seriously needs to calm down

Joe Gallo says:

Hey if I dont have the tools to grind down the back side of the bumper to
make a valley for the glue, will it be worthless to try and just apply the
glue anyway?

Jesus j says:

God Bless U man. Thank You for the Video

mcapps1 says:

You don’t reinforce it? I’ve used mesh before and drilled holes along the
crack to give some strength. Just my way I guess but you end up having to
smooth the outside.

luvtoeatit2000 says:

Pete, I should bring you my 94 Honda..you can do videos on how to fix
EvRYTHING!! lol

Bill Taylor says:

Thanks for all of your videos! This one about the bumper repair was really
helpful. I was able to fix my Monte Carlo bumper myself (saving me some
serious $$$). I sold the car right after the repair–I got top dollar for
the car, with very little repair expense.

Johnnie Doe says:

13 minutes showing someone how to glue 2 pieces of plastic together,
D-Bags.. My 5 year old son glues bits of plastic together every day at
school, hardly a revolutionary fix SMH

abiel rodriguez says:

at home? air tools. sure thing!!

classiccarz says:

what if it’s installed on the car (like it is 99% of the time)? Then what?

Rick Vulcan says:

Cheers for the video.

Dennis Woods says:

Nice job Pete

oDTheTruth says:

Nice video. I normally wrench on my car myself, but I suck at
bodyelectrical. I had a small meeting with a pothole due to construction
here in NYC and this is exactly what I was looking for. Did you sand it
down and repaint afterwards? No need to touch up anything on the front end?
My crack is on the side of the bumper. Thanks for this. Subscribed.

Nate Hood says:

“So what I’m going to do is, I’m going to stop watching this. What you
want to do is stop watching this now.”

Neftali Sanchez says:

Hey thanks man you just saved me $400 dollars

keggerous says:

parabola07 says:
