I have a problem with my 1991 RX7. the clutch has no feel when the clutch
engauges. You have to “guess” or just get used to it. It doesent seem to
slip. Would it be the clutch disc? or maybe bleed the system? The slave and
master cylinder had been replaced 4 years ago. Thanks.

@kid51089 Thank You!

Audi80B4V8, Thanks. The pull type adds a twist and seeing how they connect
and disconnect can help with the R&R. The one we didn’t go over is the pull
type setup used on Porsche. Several rings, spring washer, thrust ring and
lock ring. One piece out of position and you get to do it again or
premature failure. Gary

really good video

This is a simple question w/o a simple answer. I can’t make a blanket
statement about disc orientation, pull type vs. push type. I’ve ran into
app’s that the disc goes in “backwards” 93-97 Camaro, and others like this
Isuzu that go in “normal”. The big thing is confirming the orientation at
installation. If necessary, call your supplier. Also sometimes the
orientation marking may not be as clear as you might need. Good question.

What is the problem you are having? We have several videos that show
various hydraulic bleeding burping procedures. Gary

i have never come across this type of clutch, but i am glad i came across
this video as i will eventually have to deal with this type. great video
and very well explained.

branjispad says:

i spent 3hrs trying to get the bearing out even with the instructions on
here and the service manual. the easiest way by far is to shine a light
through the bottom hole and use a long pick to grab the cotter pin from the
top of the pin through the fork. then take a pry bar again with the top
hole and wedge it against the top of the pin and use the top of the opening
as a fulcrum to push the pin down flush with the opening. finally grab some
long 45 degree angled pliers and reach through the…

pull type? is that the same meaning for cable clutch?

perfectionclutch says:

If you found fluid at trans to motor, not good. Is it brake fluid from your
clutch release system? Brake fluid can be rinsed with water, motor or trans
oil cannot rinse with water. This might help determine if brake fluid or
other. If brake fluid came out, air most likely went in, causes no release
cannot select a gear with engine running when you push pedal down. Got any
friends that can asssit in diagnosis that are trained or have worked on
clutch release systems? Good luck, Gary

perfectionclutch says:

@branjispad Sorry you had difficulty with the factory technique. The 1st
time I did it I didn’t get it, wasted an afternoon only finding out what
didn’t work. One comment, if you insert the tool in the wrong spot, it only
wedges it tighter. The tool must go between the bearing and the retaining
ring, not the retaining ring and the diaphragm spring. The video of
disconning the bearing was real time, sorry we didn’t have a spy cam to see
it better with. Gary

Thanks for posting videos such as this. I think my issue has something to
do with my slave cylinder. But just in case my problem is bigger and i have
to do more (or have someone do more) this is a very informative video.
Thanks again.

Some aftermarket companies don’t do a great job manufacturing these type
clutch sets. I’ve found some tips to improve success here. Check out my
