I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo V6 LS vehicle. I’m having problems about the AC compressor, I am not sure whether there is a problem but the nut with the allen screw on the center makes the refrigerant leak. When I turn the vehicle on, w/o turning on the AC It runs fine, but when I turn on the AC, the RPM would go up and down and sometimes the engine DIES. There is a leak coming from the AC compressor because I hear a hissing noise coming out from the nut. Any suggestions? Thank you very much Sir.

I also have a 2001 Rodeo with the same problem. Took it to Brakes Plus and found the low side service valve leaking. Replaced the valve and reserviced the system. Runs great now with 60 degrees at the vents (outside temp 100 in Phoenix). They said the system may still be too low even if the gauge reads within the green on “cheap” gauges which will cause the AC to cycle because the pressure is too low. I used a “cheap” gauge from O’Rielly and it was in the green, but still too low, apparently.
