You showed us real well where you were measuring from at the threshold but
not where you were measuring from on the side (inner or outer wall, or
wheel well), I started the right side cut one rib too far to the right but
didn’t run into trouble because of it. Also, I’ve never seen a tape measure
with markings like that. Are those inch marks or 1/10 foot marks? The
numbering (if the alternating black/white background is feet) appears to
indicate the latter, throwing me off.
We don’t have rust problems here. This truck originally came out of
Missouri, that’s why it was so rusted. I would just wipe the bare edge with
some seam sealer if you’re worried about it.
have you noticed any extra rust around the hole?? thinking of doing this! i
like the idea though,
