Hi! nice job. Do you put oil on the threads and under the heads of your
Mains, Big-ends and cylinder head bolts before fitting and torqueing down?
Cheers, Luke

seconds… (You did a nice clean job. Looks good.Keep up the good work!)

Very sweet Johnny – Great Job. Waiting for video 2 ..and 3 and 4
Yes, If you get ahold of one with less than about 80k miles you can take it
apart and rebuild it. The problem is that most of them get driven until
they grenade and at that point you have a hole in the block, a hole in the
oil pan, destroyed pistons, destroyed crank… try pricing some of that
stuff out.
So,you rebuilt it. Did you see some abnormal wear on specific locations ?
They eat oil, have gunky oil galleries, crappy ring clearances according to
what you wrote. What is the cause of those clues ?
Fyi. I just bought an 02′ trooper because of you and your vids. Thank you.
Great video, im planning on rebuilding my 90 Pickup 2.3 engine, by the end
of the summer.
Thanks, Johnnie … you make it look so easy.
Its so nice to see the appreciation for these trucks!
You’re welcome… it is pretty easy, actually
Nice to see this video. I’m waiting for MSG rebuild video I already have
MSG parts laying around and trying to resolve the puzzle.
Thanks for these vids bro!! Do you happen to know what to set the timing to
on a 94 Rodeo with the 2.6L?
12 degrees before TDC is book, but advance it as far as you can until it
starts pinging then back it off a hair. Best way to time one if these is a
test drive with a 12mm wrench in your pocket.
You should go to the notes section of my facebook page and read the one
titled “why I don’t recommend second gen Troopers”, I’ll post the link to
the description of this video.
