How to Replace a Cabin Filter || 4WD Maintenance || Isuzu Mu-x + D-Max || N99 A/C Filter Service

G’day Guys and Gals,

In this video I show you all of the steps necessary to replace the Cabin Filter in your Isuzu Mu-x or D-max.

The Cabin filter sits in the air conditioning system between the outside air intake and the Blower Motor. It is used to extract Dust, Pollen, Odours, Mould and Bacteria from the incoming air before coming through the blower motor and through your vents.

This job is extremely simple and is definitely a perfect DIY job, requiring only a philips head screwdriver.

After replacing the filter you will ensure that you are breathing the cleanest, freshest air through the air conditioning system possible.

I have fitted every modification to the MU-X myself and really enjoy filming and teaching you guys how to do the same to your own 4×4 vehicles. The modifications I have done are listed below –

Ken Staib says:

I’m doing cape York in August and has recommendations to set the AC to external input ( rather than recirculate) as this pressurises the cabin so no dust gets in. In doing this I’ll take a spare filter and swap in 1/2 way through the trip. Do you think that this is the way to go?
Also do you know if Isuzu does a replacement of filter and at what recommended km.

Alex Swan says:

Mate that AC fan behind the glovebox has been making a bit of a noise from new. Especially on low when it’s quiet in the cabin it’s super annoying. Great relieve when you turn the AC completely off. Any idea if that can be fixed at all? Sounds a bit like a noisy PC fan. Cheers

I always run my aircon on recirculate…. do i need to replace the cabin filter ?

PJ Sinohin says:

Such a shame for isuzu Philippines, 1st generation mu-x here does not come with an a/c air filter and cover.
Owners need to DIY cut the plastic cover, put a filter and buy a proper cover.

Jayne White says:

Thanks I have been wanting to do this.
