Joseph Stublar says:

I am doing this right now, and this is exactly what you need to do, but
there are 2 screws behind the inner passenger side wheel well. I had a
broken vent flapper door too. I think that is the reason i didn’t have any
air to the floor. I also replaced all the tubing under the dash and a bad
actuator. I have been working on this all week should hopefully be done
today. New radiator new water pump new heater core new hoses also. I am
not going to put those inner wheel wells back rusty so i cleaned em up an
painted em . I was going to do the timing chain and sprockets as they
recommend that on a new water pump. This is a good instructional video
which i wasn’t able to really find any on here. It really is a pretty good
size job but i will be glad when its all over and the heater is working
great….

Hi my car is a blazer 98 and the problem is not blowing hot air i ready

core? Or just any sensor thanks for you help

Thanks for the Help!

Norm Putnam says:

i just changed the heater core in my 95 s10 4.3 z vin, it was a bitch.
ended up not completely removing entire dash assembly, just removed the
bottom sections, lowered the steering column, pulled the upper dash off its
hinge points, all used the steering column on one side to hold up the
dash, and a jack stand on the passenger side floor to hold it up on that
side, reached up around the dash to remove heater assembly cover, and the
core is rite there. just pulled the hoses off the outside, took off those
lil brackets and there ya go. a lot easier then disconnecting even more
wires. fortunately mine didn’t have the security bs to deal with since I
changed out my factory head unit. total deal took about 4 hours. just be
careful to reconnect everything u take apart, and if you don’t tighten the
screw in your main wiring harness under the driver side dash bored..
nothing will work.. I found that out the hard way and about shit a brick.
also be sure to disconnect the battery before doin any of this.

Tony Alonso says:

from the engine bay.

Ok i got all out but still something holding it in. All screws all plugs
unattached and as i was reading it tilts? Evan where are these other 2
screws? But video is awesome….Thanks Joe

Jesse James says:

There is a couple more screws on the 2002 Chevy blazer s10 under hood on
the back fire wall. There is a a bracket with one on each side and the one
to the drivers side i took a 10 mm wrench and broke in half to get out with
open end. It is a pain but The whole job is a pain. The video did help a
lot though

Joe Lleras says:

puro chihuahua says:

Thank you for the video is this the same process for my 96 s10?

Dave Quick says:

How long does the whole process take..From start to finish..Great vid…

Stan Bennett says:

@EricTheCarGuy I just completed a replacement and the whole job took 10
hours. I am glad it’s done. I drilled the hole in the black box like you
showed and that was a great tip. Thanks again and if anyone is
contemplating this, you need not remove the dash completely as it pivots
down far enough and you can leave the heat/air box in as well and remove
the core pretty easily. I sold this truck and the core started leaking, so
this was a freebie for the buyer. Core was $43 bucks on ebay

EricTheCarGuy says:

It’s amazing what you have to go through for such a small part sometimes.
Thanks for posting this I thought it was really good.

Joe Lleras says:

@Izzyman49 You are right and make sure that you don’t miss any connector or
screw

Coby McConnell says:

James Hudson says:

what were the symptoms? i am afraid ill have to do this with my eclipse

scratchdspecs says:

Hi Joe. Sorry to take so long to thank you. Getting ready for Christmas,
y’know. Did the job on 12/8. Took us 10 hours-5 hrs to remove dash, 10.5
seconds to swap cores, 5 hours to put it back together. Your and others’
videos made it much simpler than going into it blind. Thanks so much for
taking the time to post your experience and tips. Could have done it
without you but it would have been a bear and total misery without your
help! Thanks & Merry Christmas to you & yours!!

Joe Lleras says:

The job by himself is difficult and try to change the heater core without
pull out the dash make it more difficult, that why you see at 3:02 the dash
out. I hope this video helped you, (☺‼ Thanks ‼☺)
