[DIY] TURBO DIESEL TUNE UP { Better Economy + Better Response } Turbo Diesel Tune Up for Under $100

Hey Guys and Gals!

In this video I show you all of the steps necessary to carry out your own Turbo Diesel Vehicle and Engine Tune up. This DIY Tutorial shows you the process in cleaning and replacing components to regain lost power and economy from your Turbo Diesel vehicle.

It is important that we look after our Turbo Diesel 4×4 vehicles because sometimes they are put into some very tough conditions like very dusty roads which can quickly block up air filters and dirty the engines important sensors. By regularly checking out engines important sensors and filters we can ensure that we always maintain the best fuel economy and engine response.

Here are 5 simple steps to achieve better fuel economy from your Turbo Diesel 4×4 –
1. Replace the Air filter
2. Clean the Airflow Meter
3. Clean the MAP or Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (Boost sensor)
4. Put Injector Cleaner Into the Fuel Tank
5. Check and monitor Tyre pressures (Maintain to Specified Pressure)

If you follow these 5 simple steps you will immediately notice better fuel economy and response from your vehicle. These are simply DIY steps that you can carry out at home yourself without needing to take your vehicle to a Mechanic or workshop.

The Airflow sensor is an important sensor that reports to the Engine ECU. It reports the intake air temperature and air flow so that the engine can carefully inject the correct amount of fuel into the combustion chamber.

The MAP sensor or Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (BOOST SENSOR) is also an important sensor that reports to the Engine ECU. This sensor measures the pressure in the intake system of a turbo diesel engine and reports it back to the Engine ECU. This readout give the ecu a calculation of the boost pressure in the intake system so it can carefully adjust the turbo charger variable vanes and or vacuum control to the wastegate to control boost pressure according to the engines requirements

Fuel injector cleaner and fuel stabiliser is a great additive that can be added to your fuel tank on a regular basis. This additive kills diesel bug and any contaminants in your fuel. It also assists in cleaning and refreshing the fuel injectors and lines.

Your tyre pressures are often forgotten when people talk about bad fuel economy. Tyre pressure can make a huge difference in economy and response. Have you ever driven a vehicle with 15PSI in the tyres ? If you have you would remember just how hard it is to turn and accelerate. So maintaining the tyre pressure to the manufactures specifications will drastically improve your fuel economy, comfort and responsiveness.

Your Air Filter is the main filter that the engine relies upon to filter the air coming into the engine. This filter is crucial to the engines operation and it is important that the air filter is changed, checked and cleaned periodically. By changing the Air filter we can ensure that the air entering the engine is clean, fresh and free flowing with no restrictions.

So, if you are experiencing a lack of power, sluggish, slow, un responsive and bad fuel economy. Try these 5 steps to improve how your vehicle responds and its fuel economy. You can use this DIY tutorial as a guide for tuning up any turbo diesel vehicle and even non turbo diesel vehicles can see an improvement from some of the steps I have shown you.

This DIY turbo diesel tune up wont cost you any more then $100 and will definitely improve your vehicles response and economy. By Using these steps any turbo diesel vehicle will see a great improvement. You will also have some injector cleaner and airflow meter cleaner left over for the next time you service these items.
