Hi robert. ive been having trouble when i start my car( hyundai 2005
accent). It happens only after i drive it for about 10 min, then i turn it
off and when i want to start it again it wont. Then ill wait for 30 min or
so and it will start, but weak. I changed the starter and they checked the
alternator, it comes out good. I also changed the car battery and my car
completely drained it dead after two weeks. What could possibly be causing
this?? Help plZ any advice would be highly appreciated

Hey Robert,

Love what you’re doing here. I speak for everyone here when I say I
appreciate all the info. My Honda Civic 2012 EX has recently been giving me
issues. Car won’t start because of a dead battery. Took it to Auto Zone and
got a new battery because the reading said it was a bad battery. After it
was replaced guy said I need a new alternator as well (Did not pass the
voltage regulator test). However a second opinion told me that wasn’t the
case. Is there a surefire way to check which is the case? If it turns out
that I do indeed need one what would you estimate my cost would be?
According to the guys at Autozone its going to be about another $190,
doesn’t sound right to me. Thanks in advance!

Your a good man for showing people how to do these things.

Good video and instruction. Recently, I felt guilty about replacing my
alternator with a brand new one versus rebuilding it, but for $74, I went
ahead and did it. It wasn’t charging and the bearings were worn. If I had
a Volvo, I would have gone ahead and rebuilt it due to the extreme cost.

Why couldn’t just the negative post be disconnected from the battery ?

MiamiZombie2012 says:

Hi Robert. I was on the autozone website and searched for the regulator and
it came up for $170. But I saw a new alternator for $130. This is for my 02
civic project car by the way. In this case, would you recommend aftermarket
or oem alternator? The autozone one does say import.

Smashing tutorial 🙂

You are lucky that your volvo alternator is accessable, manufacturers do
love to play a game of hide and seek, the alternator and starter can be a
bloody nightmare to replace.
