My 1996 Rodeo is stuck SHUT. The electronic mechanism doesnt do anything. I was told by a mechanic that I need to use a sawzall to cut the ubolt that the door latches onto. Uness I can somehow get the door panel off WITHOUT opening the door, then I could possibly trip the machanism to open the door. Can you help me at all?

Sorry man wanted to let you know I saw your question… I do not know any way except to get everything you can loose, I know it will be a tight to impossible fit with the seats right there. Do the locks work? Do the inside and outside door latches feel like they are doing anything? resistance?

I have a passport which is the same as the trooper. Both back doors are stuck closed. Tips on getting the panels off to fix?

I’ll send u a link

Bruce Kamai says:

Can u tell me what the name of the metal hinge of the door is called, it looks like a pin holds the part on the frame and bolts hold the door. hope this makes sense!

Autotechviewpoint says:

sorry man, I do not know offhand where the dome light switch is on this truck.

Autotechviewpoint says:

Sorry I was not clear, it opened from the inside. Pain in the rear if it does not open at all! Then you just have to do your best to work in the tight space between the door and the seat. I haven’t done it but you could remove the drivers seat. ya still a pain…

Benjamin Volke says:

howd you get the door open to do this?!?!?!
