I have Infinity Reference 6 tower in black. Barely used but despite being
stored in my closet under a/c the stupid foam surround from on the 3
drivers on each unit went to dust…very irritating since these speakers I
love and were immaculate since I got them from Sound Advice. My dad stated
that id the voice coil scratches and is off center the drivers are wasted.
I disposed of the cones coil and kept the magnets. So can you please guide
me to what are good replacement drivers for these units?

The kappa 7, 8, and 9 series of speakers were called the “amp killer”
series because the impedance curve drops to below 1 ohm in 2 places in its
frequency range.

hey guys, i have some speakers that look like nothing is wrong with them
but when i connect them no sound comes out from them. I’ve taken them out
and replaced them in the working speaker box and still no sound. ive
checked crossover but it works fine. so i know its not the crossover. any
reasons why speaker would have no sound?

Simply Speakers says:

Check out our website. We sell the woofers and low mids for them. The upper
mids are no longer available. Or call us at 1-800-511-3343 for info.
Thanks!

Simply Speakers says:

The speakers have internal issues (voice coil). They may look perfect, but
will not work if there is a problem with the electronic portion of the
drivers.

Give us a call to order. 1-800-511-3343. Part # M-330 on our website too.
Thanks! Sean

This is great to know! I have some old AVDA or something like that, going
based off memory as they’re in my closet under some junk to protect them
from dust, speaker boxes in which the woofer’s surrounds have come apart
due to age and use. Now I just have to figure out where to get surrounds
that aren’t for a surround sound stereo. That’s hard in this day and age.
