Infiniti G37 Serpentine Belt Replacement

Infiniti G37 Serpentine Belt Replacement

While the G is out of commission, I figured I would take the time to take care of some maintenance jobs. I’ve been needing to replace the serpentine belt so I figured I would make a DIY video for anyone interested. It is a great job for a beginner. It just takes some patience and you will be good to go. I hope this video helps you complete your job.

Thanks for your videos. Just wanted to point out that Infiniti does state 30K for replacing the S belt but that seems a bit overkill. I own a G37 coupe and the belt is still in good condition at over 60K. Most guys on the G forums don't replace the belts until after 50K with no complaints of premature belt failure. You didn't mention that the tensioner has 3 notches on top that show where the belt tension should be. If the tension falls out of the range of the 3 notches, you should replace the tensioner. It is also a good idea to inspect the pulleys and replace them especially if you have noise at start up or shut down. Keep up the good work.

Parts of your video helped me out heaps. Thanks! I can confirm that you don't need to remove the pulley. Put the belt on as per diagram, then compressor last, helps ALLOT 50/50 with underneath access too..

Thanks a tonne

Rachel Morris says:

Is changing the belt the same on all G37? I have an 09. Thanks

Terrance Collins says:

Idk why belt replacements are so intimidating to me…my belt squeals when there's a lot of moisture in the air so I have to do this soon to my G37

Demetri98 says:

Hey Alex , what intake filters are you using on the G

Kurtis R. says:

Bizzenn1976 says:

Great vid but I have a question about your intake tubes. What are they made of and where Can I get them? Also do you get a better sound?

It's up to you, but you can cut the old belt if you are 100% going to replace it with the new belt.
It can save you time to remove the old belt.
I cut my old belt when I did the replacement.

Great video as always, my 2010 G has headlight clouding issues any advice on restoring the headlights and have you changed bulbs to LED ? Thanks for your help.

Flysohighx21 says:

Change every 30k miles?! My g37 is at 75k and still, on the original belt, makes zero noise and looks fine.

TatsuyaDragon says:

Thanks for the video, i need to do this since I have 136k miles on mine and haven't changed it yet lol

Khiem Dang says:

You post the video at the perfect timing. I'm about to change mine this weekend. Thank much.

Joe Jones says:

Get that old belt out of your trash and put it in your trunk, As your knew belt can and sometimes will break, during its "stretch"-"break in period" not only that…if by chance it breaks at anytime…now you have a back up…thanks for the video, and like always you do a very nice job.

I actually replaced my g37's belt last month without taking off that one pulley. It was simple and fast job. (gates Racing Micro-V High Performanc)
