It’s a pleasure to watch a craftsman at work.
We use a pre-waxed nylon thread for most wheels. In some cases where a
special color is required we will wax our Anefil Poly Tex 210
double-stitching thread. As for the stitch we do use two different threads
that are constantly crossing each other.
Can you email us a picture of the wheel?
What kind of thread is the one you are using? Any particular label.. So you
use individual threads to do the cross stitch?
Good job on that stitching… how much would something like this cost in
Canadian dollars?
Looks great! Well said on the “you get what you pay for”.
We hand stitch the whole thing…It was just trial and error until we
learned the right technique.
What is the cost of this job ?
Could you do this with a Lancer EVO 8 steering wheel using ultrasuede?
i have this momo jet steering wheel the leather is geting mess up what ca i
do
I’ve got an old school Momo V35 that needs new leather but I plan on using
glue only to attach the leather. Pause at 5:35 and you will see why. The
stitching creates these rough spots which you will always feel with your
hand. Of course it won’t look as good as the stitching but for a track car
it shouldn’t matter.
I’m going to be purchasing a 2006 toyota avalon which has a wood steering
wheel plus leather on the sides like the one in the first shots of the
video. Could you give me an estimate based on the information i have given
you have you done any for a toyota avalon?
hi, there are some other type of stitchings which wont cause that effect
you mentioned. On Italian wheels (Momo, Nardi mainly) are parallell (mainly
pre sewn) patterns, but cross, and diamond etc shapes are enough flat Here
WERE excellent vids about by Cechaflo but unfortunatelly, been cancelled.
Good luck for the glueing. prepUK
Thumbs up for the quality work shown by this company.
am I the only one who thought that looked really bad?
A custom wrap like the one we did on the G35 runs anywhere from $375.00 to
$500 US dollars. The Canadian $ is just about 1 to 1 with the US $ right now
I have a steering wheel I want to try re stitching myself. I wanted to ask;
how do you get those joints looking that good in the leather.. ?? Is it
stitched the same as the rest of the wheel or is it done in a machine?
