Infinity or Nissan Door handle (driver side) FX45 / FX35 / F35 / F45 / Murano 2033 – 2007, Quick and easy fixing without removal for panel
This is a 2005 Infinity FX45 that I needed to change the door handle on. Most Nissan and Infiniti are the same step.

I dont have a magnet stick to get the bolt out to take out the lock assembly. Am afraid of dropping it inside the door. Any idea what that bolt looks like if it accidentally drops in the door (for replacement)?
Be careful when installing the lock cover the plastic tabs are like paper. They will snap with ease. I try to work the back end first then push it. If you just mash it like he did in this vid it breaks the tabs 99 out of 100 times. You may notice these vehicles are always missing the key cover. That's why. Poor design cheap plastic parts.

Thank you so much! I just fixed it today with a replacement handle I bought a month ago. I've seen multiple videos but they all featured regular handles, not the driver side w/intelligent key. On discussion boards lots of people had the same problem, but nobody had a good answer. I removed the inside door panel (not too hard, actually) but saw no easy way to get at the wiring. It made me think that there's got to be some way to remove the existing wiring (which works fine) from the broken door handle. Then I saw your video. I wish I'd seen it a month ago. This has been driving me crazy, but no longer. Again, thank you!
