How to Remove the AC Amplifier in a 2011 Toyota Rav4 (Car Blowing Hot Air When the AC is Engaged)

This video will overview the procedure to remove the air conditioning (AC) amplifier in a 2011 Toyota Rav4. Note: The negative battery terminal was removed prior to removal of the AC amplifier in this video.

This Rav4 does not have a magnetic clutch relay in the engine compartment. Therefore, the AC amplifier is a point of failure that needs to be checked if the magnetic clutch does not engage properly and other conditions are not identified as the cause of failure (refrigerant leak/low pressure, blown fuse, open circuit from bad wiring/damage, compressor failure (B1479), etc.). Note: Failure of the magnetic clutch to engage typically means the vehicle will blow hot air when the AC is engaged.
