How to fix Nissan Infinity fuel gauge problems!

How to fix Nissan Infinity fuel gauge problems!

This covers repair for G37 and similar models that use unified meter and A/C amp module between fuel level senders and instrument cluster.

Tools I use –

Thank you you solve my problem

Dystopia says:

1:36 my manual says nothing about the ac auto amp (g35 2007) in the diagnostic process so wouldnt you be right about the sending units going straight to my cluster?

Mookie mookie says:

I have a 2011 G37x and my gas needle isn’t accurate at all. I took it to infiniti to diagnose and it pop up with A/C Amp Meter. If i swap that one out it should fix the issue you think ?

Paul George says:

Great video ! Do you know the size of those resistors ?

G H says:

After ruling out the sending units with a multimeter and confirming continuity to the ac amp module I suspected a bad solder joint. Visual inspection didn't reveal anything but reflowing the same section of the board you showed with a heat gun fixed my issue! Many thanks

Kevin T says:

I’ve got a code that popped up when I filled up my tank to full it said p0462 fuel level sensor A circuit low could it still be the amplifier?

Aladdin Rotone says:

2008 g37 the fuel gauge still in full My mechanic said the fuel pump is the problem when scanned but i was wondering when I watched this

Dave Bittman says:

This is exactly why I love YouTube! I was able to fix my nephews G37 and save him a grand. Excellent video!

Mu Force says:

Thank you, Jonny Fix!! This was the exact cause to my 2013 G37x Fuel Gauge random fluctuation problem. I found a very tiny crack at the exact same spot as showing in the video (in my case, the crack was only visible under a digital magnifying scope… I did lots of researches and testings before I finally found your tutorial…Prior to that, I've replaced the sub sending unit, as well as the main pump unit after multiple road testings. Neither attempts solved the gauge issue… You rocks!!

peanutbutterisfu says:

I actually just took this module apart and was trying to find a schematic so I can check which resistors to look for and seen ur vid, same exact problem with a 2008 infinity ex35! Thanks man!

CARLO PARISE says:

I have the same issue..did this fix the issue??

Fooligins says:

G37 IS NOT A SKYLINE

V8Snail says:

It's more plausible to imagine that positioning fault occurred during manufacture, ie. knocked while hot due to some issue within the machine, then leaving a conductive path through aerated solder which finally plays up after years of vibration and heat cycling.

zx8401ztv says:

That's just mad!, the pcb copper doesn't look cooked but it got hot enough to desolder, very strange.
The question is how did that resistor get that hot?, Is the tank sender a replacement that has too low a resistance.
More current flowing maybe.
Or perhaps there was/is a short to chassis.
Some how i think the owner will be back, hopefully not.
