I love Volvo’s 2.5 I5, 2.9 I6, 3.0/3.2 I6 engines. Very easy to change
spark plugs and other things, unlike a V6 engine, which is difficult.
hi I found this to be very informative , I have had some recent trouble
with a jag 3.0 v6 s type , been misfiring and shaking the car , like a
juddering also , smells like burning oil and was steaming from front end !!
, been on a computer and it says , misfire cylinder 6 ? , mechanic says
could be coil pack , but would be very expensive to repair , from what ive
seen you do and also they are around £18 per coil or £ 45 per set of six
surely the expensive part cant be true are they pulling my chain ? thanks
anyways for posting the vid it not only is informative but also stops
people being ripped off , I would hope for a repl if at all possible thanks

when coil is referred to is this a coil on each spark plug lead. A Hyundia
1997 Accent auto just had a new coil and leads fitted but now misfires. any

Please Help! I have a 2007 Ford Expedition EL. It shakes/”lumpy” when
driving and now it happens even at 35/40 mph! The engine light flashes
too:( Code P0308, so v8 misfire?! Will it be as simple as this to fix
myself?? All the tutorials I’ve seen are for F150s…thank you so much:)
is that basically a spark plug wire? or are coils and wires completely

What happens if you know it is the coil, and you change it…and the car
still runs rough (say it didn’t spark and with the new one it does)? Is an
ECU reset necessary? Is the gapping on the spark plug wrong?

Great video and good information. I have to say this does not show how to
test a coil nor learn about the system. For the most part this is very
simple and somewhat accurate but not intirely. You can still have a coil
not being fired and does not mean the coil is faulty even if you have
power, ground, and good pcm. Vehicles nowadays use stragety where it would
shut down another cylnder and give youa code for it but it has nothing to
do with that coil, its just the way it was designed to work/
It could be. When the check engine lamp (MIL) flashes it means that there
is a problem that could cause catalyst damage. Almost always this means you
have a misfire. If this video doesn’t help you take it to a qualified
technician.
what about a 2002 ford exployer?
bought new plugs for chevy venture V6 1998 when installed them i got
misfire on cylinder #1, changed plug and wires set . got same thing #1
misfire..everything always ran ok before until the new plugs went in.. they
are one of the highest watt plugs anywhere..but company said should be fine
. OIL looks clean, coil has spark.. IS it injector? or these unusual plugs?
Great video. I have an S80 I just got today and its a 2000 with 120,000 on
it. Has been taken care of pretty well and is clean but the engine sounds
like the one in your video when you pop the hood, are the S80s supposed to
sound like this? The car runs good otherwise, full power and drives smooth.
can a bad ignition coil cause a spark plug to foul out. I same car and plug
keeps fouling out evett so often. and when I change thw plug everything is
ok. keep in mind there is no oil on plug when I remove it

i went and did your test it all checked out good on the crown vic and now
its saying cyl 3 and 7 missfire and tune up isnt even a year old yet
Yeah those Bosch Platinums don’t run worth shit in anything. Did you change
all 8 coils? Those coil boots are also bad for failing and causing a carbon
track on the side of the spark plug. check for carbon tracking on all your
autolites. …..and don’t forget to take back you Bosch plugs. lol

@maycor1076 your exactly right. there is still a boat load of problems
that i did not eliminate. the video would be an hour long if i were to get
in depth and would be far too technical for the average youtuber. also at
the beginning of the video i said “diagnose without a scantool”.

Thanks for the demo. I just solved a problem on my Subaru RS. Did exactly
as you demonstrated and found one of my coil on plug was faulty.. Other
than the rough idle, I also noticed the plug from one of the cylinders was
fuel soaked with soot, while the others were light brown. Just so happen it
was the same cylinder I now find the coil is not firing on.. Thanks again,
I plan to replace the four coils and plugs ASAP..

my 97 festiva stutters when it accelerates in a hot day, can a bad coil
plug be the cause?
@georgelopez22 i have a feeling this may be a little bit to in depth for
diagnosis over youtube but we can give this a shot. was or is the vehicle
running bad? if so this will cause catalyst deterioration. 90% of the time
a P0420 code sets when the converter is indeed bad. catalytic converters
are covered under a U.S. federal emissions warranty for 8 years and 80,000
miles! which means if your converter is bad Ford must replace it at no
charge! i suggest ford diagnose this problem. Willie B.
