Changing the alternator on the G20 is not that hard esp if your not running with the A.C compressor .

no tensioner just loosen the top bolt holding the alternator in place and
push the alternator downwards away from the motor this will put enough
slack in the belt.. There is a compartment you can reach by unscrewing a
black plastic access panel in the passenger side wheel well.. pull out this
plastic piece and you will be able to reach your hand up in and remove the
belt.

loosen the alternator pulley 1st ( the wheel ) then the main bolt. sorry
for the late response.

Can u please help me on 1999 g20 alternator please!!!!

JoYoJoYoJoYoJo says:

Is that alternator the same as the 97-02 Q45?

Nissannx2000svg says:

Alternators can die depends on where you live and how much load you put on
them these hitachi units are very stout you can do a test by using
voltmeter on the battery test the voltage with the car off and do a test
with it on the results off should range from 11-12.5 and on it should read
12-13.5 volts ,and thank the Mazda is turning out to be a very good car.
