Hey, we have a 93 fleetwood brougham and it ran completely out of gas
because our gas gage is stuck on full, it’s broken. And now when we try to
pump gas in it, it rejects the gas and spits it out. And we don’t have any
gas in our tank. What could be the problem?

Hi Scotty I have a 2004 silverado the evap is next to the tank mine shuts
off and I took a regular gas can and filled it as it began to gurgle and
spew back out and over flow if I filled it to fast could the screen be
clogged in the filler neck as well?

richard evans says:

Hi scotty, I have an 03 trailblazer with 171,000 miles. It is very hard to
fill up, the gas pump shuts off after a few seconds. I have the check
engine light on with code po440. I have narrowed down the problem to
eithier the purge solenoid or the vent valve. Which one do you think is
causing the problem? Thank you

Marcelo Acuna says:

Hey Scotty I have a 2005 Sierra That spills about a cup of fuel every time

Pamela Ayscue says:

Scotty, I have a 2007 Buick Terraza 114000 miles bought used. Car will not
move into forward gear with initial crank until engine warms up (10
minutes) Car hesitates and kicks upon acceleration. Car has stalled twice
and been towed twice while driving and displaying low fuel light. Would not
crank after stall. Mechanic cannot recreate problem and no codes are
displaying now? Mechanic says that transmission seal valve was bad and
used Lucas Transmission Treatment. Mechanic also cleared a P440 two months
ago. Any ideas about what to check next?

Hey Scotty, I have the same problem when I go to pump gas into my 2004
Chevy Avalanche (Z66). The gas pump handle keeps trying to shut off. It
looks to me (in this case) that, there’s more to this then just blow air
through the tub. Could you please help a brother out…. Thanks Ric

Awesome video Scotty… coming from another Scotty!

Tom Mendola says:

Hi Scotty. Love the video. I have a 2007 Caravan 3.3L that won’t take fuel.
The mechanic told me my overflow on the filler neck is cracked??? Need a
new gas tank. Prior to this I was getting error code P0456 and a misfire
code in my second cylinder (it needs a tune up??). Does all this sound
right to you?

pablo lopez says:

Thanks for this video Scotty, I’ve been having problems fueling my 03
Hyundai accent for the past 2 years I will definitely try this out

Bryan Tarjick says:

Hi Scotty. Thanks for your channel. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT that has
this problem and has for over a year. This past weekend, I found the EVAP
Canister located at the back above the spare tire. I took it off, was able
to blow air through it with no problem and cleaned it up a little. Put it
back together but still have the same problem. Any other recommendations
you could offer? Thanks again.

Joe Honea says:

ok man i blew all the lines out still have the same problem. Could it be
the vent solenoid?

arieschick004 says:

Hello Scotty, where is the EVAP canister on a 2005 Dodge Durango. I tried
looking under the hood but can’t seem to find it. I also tried looking
under the hood and can’t find it. Yesterday I tried to fill my tank up
after the gas light came on and it was spitting out gas. I heard a whoosh
sound when I unscrewed the gas cap so I’m assuming it’s clogged somewhere
right?

Joshua Fite says:

Hey brother, this is happening to my wife’s 1998 Honda Accord Lx v6. I
can’t locate the 2way evap in the manual diagram or under the hood. Is it
closer to the tank? Sometimes she waits til she’s damn near on fumes to
fill up. I think it’s full of dirt. Any insight is helpful! Thank you, sir.

Jar jar binx says:

what problem am I having? ok, I have a 2002 ford mustang. everytime after
I’m done refueling my tank as I drive off my car kicks a few times for like
the first 10 seconds or so. (this is as I’m driving)

Dorothy Wood says:

Where would I find the EVAP canister on a 2001 mazda protege

Samson Yang says:

So does this apply to the codes P0440, P0441, and P0446? because i have all
3 codes, would is usually be the canister? or disconnection from – to +
ground?

Spring794 says:

I’ve put compressed air through my vent tube, replaced my EVAP canister and
fuel filler neck on my 95 Ranger and I still have trouble putting gas in.
What else could cause this?

Obbelisk says:

Hey Scotty i got a question for ya! Have a 2003 Grand Marquis with a
misfire type symptom. I have changed everything, plugs, coils, fuel pump,
fuel filter, checked MAF and i can find nothing.. No codes either. Now im
having trouble filling the car so i assume its the evap so im going to look
at that now. My question is can the evap system cause my misfire symptom?
Thanks a lot, love the channel as always!

Tyson Adams says:

Hi Where might the EVAP canister on my 2004 Mazda Tribute be?

Michelle Sanchez says:

Thank you, I’m going to try this! Would this also cause the car to stall
right after being filled with fuel (and no other time)? Revving the engine
keeps it from shutting off, and then it’s good to go, but now it’s also not
allowing me to add more than a little bit of gas at a time….2004 Hyundai
Accent. Thanks in advance!!!

Lucas Gollon says:

Hey Scott. Great video. How do I find the evap canister on a 2002 mustang?

Lauren LaTour says:

Hi, Can you please tell me where we can find the EVAP canister on a 2002
Ford Explorer…. only way we can fuel up my truck is with a gas can!
Hubby has checked the lines from the gas fueler and found no clogs…
Thanks!

princeabbas2000 says:

Hi, i understand the issue now. I have searched all of internet but to no
luck can i find and locate where my fuel tank hose is that i can pull out
and air out for my 2002 hyundai sonata base. Please help if you ve any idea
about my particular car.

Bruce Little says:

My 2003 Toyota Matrix has the following error codes : P0171, P0440 & P0442
and filling the gas tank is also an issue exactly as described in you
video. Is it possible that all three codes are related to a faulty EVAP
canister or should I be looking at any other possible factors?

ejay6o9 says:

I have a 2004 ford Ranger is it possible to do the same thing you did in
your vehicle? A mechanic told me I had to replace a pump that all ford
ranges have so it would stop stopping the pump from shutting off. what do
you think?

Saberus Terras says:

Would a fresh can of air work to back flush the evap line if you made it
seal? I mean the kind used to blow dust out of computers and keyboards.
Or would it not make enough pressure?

Husky Corporation says:

These are excellent tips, but then again you also have to be sure about
what you’re doing. If you’re not an expert like Scotty here I suggest you
do more research or consult a professional before trying anything.
