Thanx for the Vid! Installed K&N in place of factory air filter on 2k6 G35 coupe. Was very easy with the video, never thought to remove the parts you did. Thx!!!

waqasusmans says:

I agree, I don’t have a “zip do” and I was able to do it without cutting that zip tie cable thing. Everything else has to be done in order to avoid damaging the filter.

waqasusmans says:

Thank you very much, this was very helpful. Before watching this video I partly damaged my old dusty filter in the attempt to take it out without removing the whole black in-take compartment and I wasn’t sure how I would put the new one in in one piece 🙂

venkatgill says:

Very helpful. The press and plug didnt come out for me, but still able to replace the filter and clean the inside part of the box easily. Thanks for the video

Jim Farn says:

Do are they disposing of bodies in the background? Esp. At 5:00 in?

Jim Farn says:

Great DIY video… after my 6th filter change I found this. No more hand injuries. Lol.

dyldorichardson says:

Hey @bythabaypalyer, I just replaced my air filter with a Fram Extra Guard filter and it seems that I am now getting slightly worse gas mileage. Have you ever heard of this occurring with a brand new filter?

HEIRON33 says:

I took off that plastic piece that’s inserted into the airbox too increase airflow, good or bad thing?

jaxjaxson says:

No way man, I to thought this man was just a wrench wielding cowboy looking for some extra action. But save yourself the aggravation and from ruining a brand new filter and just follow all the steps in this video. Will be much easier and will go much quicker. Only thing you really don’t have to do is undo the zip tie cable thing. I left that whole thing on and was able to still do it fine. If you have a zip do that extra step probably will end up making it even slightly easier and less annoying.

HEIRON33 says:

Can I leave that plastic piece off and get more air?

ManWhatever1 says:

This is crazy designing from Infiniti. All of this has to be done to replace a simple air filter? Just wow.

Thanks for the video…

orasion says:

thanks.. quite helpful

kaerfirarref says:

Thank you so much for the video 🙂

10lluvv says:

can you buy those clips anywhere?

LUDABRIKS says:

Thanks for the vid!

salchipapa8000 says:

dude, you have some of the greatest vids on DIY stuff on the G35, please dont stop producing great vids. may be a slightly better definition on the camera to be able to see things a bit clearer, but other than that, great vids man !! i’ll keep watching !

David N says:

thanks brotha, didn’t know it was so easy!

MyTPIMonteSS says:

Thanks for the video, made my life much easier!! I just installed my new OEM air filter today, and swapped in a Stillen Z-tube since I had everything apart already. 🙂

ironkong26 says:

Shahid6547 says:

Just wanted to say thanks. I followed your exact instructions and i was successful.

vxPRETTYvx says:

ok well, on a small side note, those clips that hold the grill and the filter tubing and also the battery cover, what is the part number of those clips? or at least its actuall name? i lost about half of them (dog ate them) and i need to buy some so it dosent loosen, THANKS!!

oxouk says:

There is no way you can simply release the airbox clips and swap out the filter on the G35. You have to do as this video shows. I don’t care how you did it on your Maxima, Z or any other car for that matter.

osinskialex says:

I just did it my self took about 15 minutes with cleaning the air box. Good video, thanks.

Djonkie Bonk says:

I doubt anyone needs to go through all this trouble. There are 2 clips you simply pull and the filter will slide out. Then do the opposite and the new one is in. Maybe it’s harder on this G but on my 2000 Maxima with the VQ30 engine it takes all but 15 seconds to do.

Ben B says:

that filter is fucking nasty. where do u guys live? must be dusty as hell

Jonathan Kwon says:

i need to do this but i dont feel like taking the whole box out.i could just shimmy the box open and stick my hands in there and take it out but again like jacomoncal said it could damage the new air filter.and yes the intake system on the g35 is good enough that putting a CAI system would not give much hp.Im just gonna get a replacement K&N for my sedan.

xdivisionx says:

too complicate to just replace the air filter…its so easy on my Honda..

whippedboy says:

jesus christ what a pain in the ass for an air filter change!!!

strikefr12 says:

wow that is sooo much harder to do than the 350z…lol

azniza519 says:

Looks like an easy job, will give it a try. What tools do you need?
