That is a goodquestion. There are a couple of companies tha can “unlock” your scree. NAV-Tech and LockPick are two of the better companies. i would look to them for the screen. After its all said and done, I am sure you could use your iPod/iPhone, or just pick up a decent DVD player.

Hi, LOVE the video, Question ?? I have an 08 Infiniti FX35 Sport Tech NAV package. Im a little confused on how to watch DVD’s. Im pretty sure I do not have a factory DVD player in the car except for the DVD Rom for the NAV under the passenger seat. I do have a cable in the glove compartment with an Apple Ipod end on it to connect to a Iphone or ipod. Can i push video to the NAV sceren on the dash or do I need to purchase a portable DVD player?

Glenn,
Thanks for your post! Comments like yours make all of this worth while. When I make my first order at the bar tonite, I’ll tilt my bottle for you! Have fun with it.
Thanks again, Rob

Robert, thank you for this posting. It helped me in two ways. First, it gave me the confidence to go ahead & order an iSimple Gateway & Blue Tooth module for my ’05 Infiniti. Second, while doing the install I had trouble figuring out which two plugs to disconnect. (Those plugs were tough to get loose.) I watched your video again, & was happy to notice that you pointed out the correct plugs to take loose. You made my install faster & easier. The iSimple is working great. I owe you a beer!

Robert Davidoski says:

its been a while since I did this install, but am pretty sure that it has to have the SAT button, or its not compatible.

Mike Eberts says:

How did this work when this deck doesn’t appear to have factory satellite ready functionality? I was told you can’t do anything unless it is satellite ready. I have the same stereo in my fx45 and was told (and it appears) that there is no satellite ready.

Robert Davidoski says:

Call the local stereo shop and ask them to look into it for you. the part is called iSimple Gateway. they should be able to point you in thr right direction. if you live in the Houston area, give Mobile One a call and get a quote.

Where can I buy one for my infiniti g35 sedan?

Robert Davidoski says:

I think I had the same issue…but not sure if it was the Infiniti, or one of the others.

JC W says:

So i actually just got it installed and its pretty neat. The only thing i dont understand why it doesnt work well is fast forwarding a song. Normally if you hold down the rewind or fast forward it should work….When i click and hold forward from the dash it just skips to the next song. 🙁

Robert Davidoski says:

I think it was teh AUX, but do not remember. It’s been a minute since I have done one. PAC, the company that makes iSimple products would be able to point you in the right direction

JC W says:

Hey, which mode does the Ipod connection and AUX take over? I dont see a button on my dash for AUX so i was wondering which source it plays from when i plug in an Ipod or when i need to use the AUX port?

Robert Davidoski says:

Its still the original screen. the slide show walks you through the installation of an iPod interface to the factory radio. With this type of interface, you control the iPod from the radio’s controls.

tsasasvsis says:

Does the screen show all the information just like the one that comes with Infiniti?

Robert Davidoski says:

Each plug has a clip you have to press in order to pull it out. It;s easier than it looks.

ProvLax27 says:

Any suggestions/tips on removing the plugs? Is there an easy way or a trick to the removal? They all seem to be very difficult to remove.
