In this video, I replace the timing belt and water pump, as well as the tensioner and idler pulleys, on a Hyundai Elantra. The vehicle in the video is the Touring model but the engine and drivetrain are identical to a regular Elantra. This process applies to the 2007-2010 Elantra (HD chassis).
I’ve included torque specs (a common request) in my walk-through which I start providing once things are going back together.
The parts I used in the video are from a kit I purchased on Rock Auto, specifically the AISIN TK003 kit, which consists of: timing belt (Mitsuboshi), water pump, water pump gasket, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley.
Feel free to ask any questions and/or provide feedback!
Thanks for watching!
Hi. I have some Questions : 1- How many miles has the car at that Moment ?
—————-2Why no replace Crankshaft and Camshaft Seals if you are there ?—————————-3- The correct tension for the Tensioner is at the point 8:20, no what you pointed with your Finger at 8:24, and Even Gate Explain it. If you put it there will be extreme. Did you find it out first before put it ?———————————————————-4- Why you did not turn the Car ? That will show us you did it right.—————————5- The all torque Specs you gave Only the Idle puller 39 FT was Right, the Rest is all Different of What I got from Other Videos and Mechanics.Well done,Easy to follow, thanks.
