Replacing the coil in the 2000 hyundai accent

Replacing the coil in the 2000 hyundai accent

I decided to try and throw some parts at it to see if it would help, it didn’t.

Dose anyone know what color wire is the negative side for installing a tach
on this car?

I’m betting on a bad valve.

Good luck on her…I’ve got faith in ya…you’re a great mechanic!

chevyblows2001 says:

try to do a compression test?

ShelbyGT500R1 says:

i have to say have you checked the resistance of the HT/ spark plug wires?
a faulty wire with a higher resistence could be reducing the spark, making
it occasionally to run fine not under load

asdfsnot says:

burnt valve.

CoolasIce2 says:

Here’s an opportunity to show some diagnosis skills. Let’s see you fix
this one. Don’t let us down. Crankshaft position sensor or a fuel injector
btw.

James Eggerth says:

You should check the valves, compression test…

naterade21 says:

@naterade21 check your fuel injectors

My truck had a miss to it last year and it was the spark plug wires.

naterade21 says:

i think your bottom end is dicked

I find my time’s a problem throughout the hyundai accent 2000

ncarter124 says:

Have you done a wet and dry compression test? That is going to tell the
tale.

BobsAutoRepair says:

Hey old Buddy! Hyundai eh…lol I’m sure you will figure it out. I usually
recommend normal maintence to customers…plugs/wireset and maybe fuel
filter if you have quite a few miles. When the plugs are out it may be a
good idea to do a quick compression test to eliminate that. If still acting
up I guess I would take a stethescope and listen to your injectors while
running, listen for the normal sharp clicks, then check resistance and if
one is a bit out of line with the other three…

spelunkerd says:

The fun part of mechanics is the diagnostic phase. Is that a check engine
light on? Did you scan for codes, and did you look at/change the plugs? How
many miles on the engine? Do you have access to a compression gauge? Is it
overdue to change the air filter/fuel filter?

clubcar98 says:

Is the check engine light on? Its hard to tell and I cannot remember where
the light is on these cars… Have you checked the plug wires? You put them
on how they came off, but they could have been on wrong to start perhaps? I
will check your other video and see where they are in that one when you
showed the car. TPS? Our Bonneville sputtered like that when driving, TPS
was bad. Id check plugs and fuel filter.

adam2011 says:

try spark plugs + leads if that dosn’t work try changing the injectors, or
maybe the air filter needs changing? I had a rover like this and it was mis
firing the head gasket was knackered so i changed it easy to do.might be
that?

chox2001 says:

that proved one thing. you got 2 good coils. hope its a plug or a plug lead
but Im not convinced.

DEATH94SQUAD says:

Fuel injectors may need new rings.. these tend to have that problem Or its
the mass airflow sensor

ndchevy says:

Love how you’re driving with the hood up and taping at the same time lol

djcatdog525 says:

EGR, MAP, plugs and wires, fuel filter dirty air filter, there a air lek

Igor Perić says:

RMP is good. Do not fall for a ride. When I turn it off it just comes a
time and will not start the engine. Engine temperature is not important.
Sometimes it is not when it is cold, so it will sometimes warm. Doubt the
electrical connectors, but not allow for complete service to confirm

88GTi says:

You must have worked out which cylinder is dropping out? Right? You
wouldn’t just change the coil without establishing that first? You know
what to do! I’m saying nothing! It would be like telling my granny how to
suck eggs…haha!!! Hope it’s not a burned valve though!!!

delmontcrusier says:

I was thinking like alot of commenters about checking the plugs. But I was
also thinking check to see if you have a bad wire.I have had wires start
sparking from a pinhole in the casing.Best way is to be in a dark area and
take a look for arking. My favorite was working under the hood with the
engine running and getting zapped, feels great lmao.

blazerlover25 says:

have you checked spark plugs?I am wondering if it aint a bad fuel injector
or a clogged catalytic converter..perhaps rip the exhaust off and see if it
improves??could be a ton of problems just I aint there so I wouldn’t know
the exact one..good luck

ncarter124 says:

Try gaping your plugs for 0.035″ instead of the recommended 0.044″

raymond palermo says:

I have a santafe 2003 that chugs when it rains .I sprayed water on the coil
and it stalled.I have a bad coil pack and it is about 115.00 for a new one.

Tanner King says:

Can’t you pull codes and see what the problem is?

Igor Perić says:

I got a problem with my H- accent 2000year. When I parking it he cant start
engine that is always in january and fabruary. In service cant find the
problem. Please can you contakt my on mail; igor0410@live.com or skype ;
enigmax25 I m from Croatia . tnx

curtismundy says:

Maybe its a clogged injector

bobcavalier says:

hello your problem is the modulator ica (ISA) is the module for the coolant
I solve my problem if you disconnect the motor turns very well when the
engine warms my changes this piece

billgibson71 says:

The first thing I tell my customers is..”ALWAYS START WITH THE SIMPILIST
AND CHEAPIST THING FIRST”..As many of us said .Change the plugs,Your not
wasting money thats something your going to have to do any way and saves on
gas milage..2nd AND WEAR GLOVES!!!..Pull 1 wire at a time with the engine
running..If the engine sounds stay the same or change slighty you found the
bad wire…..P.S. thinks for the link to the band “Redlight KING”

bigtoy63 says:

Pluggs, wires perhapps, comp seems OK, injectors is next but wires and
pluggs is less expensive so that would be the way I’d go :o))

CXW429 says:

Hey bah, my friend has an 02 Ranger, and it’s misfiring. I took it down to
Autozone to get them to check the Check Engine light, and he said, “It’s
probably a bad coil or something.” Then he just left me wondering what
exactly the problem was. It’s misfiring on cylinder 1, so how would I go
about fixing that?

boan929 says:

Hello. I dont know if you already fix it or not but mine was doing the same
and it was the mass air flow sensor or MAF. To test it simple, unplug it
and if is a bad MAF it sould run fine. Hope i helped

More350Power says:

Does that car have drive by wire throttle by chance? Bad compression,
fouled plugs, leaking injector, bad grounds are some ideas. Guess that
makes 0 to 60 in record time, lol.

Steven Lebbing says:

Do you have the tool that checks out any codes that may have on it if it
does you should try the problem that says what wrong with it.
