Hyundai( rhymes with Sunday) bought Kia in 1998.
Bad time to need personal transportation for sure. A lot of poor souls are being taken to the cleaners.
Those valuable safety features should be standard, not optional. Unless federal law requires a feature to be standard, many manufactures only offer it as optional equipment
Hyundai had owned Kia since 1998.
They are separately operated with different philosophies.
This is not news unless you have been hiding in a cave for the past two decades.

Toyota created Lexus just like Honda created Acura. Hyundai and Kia are 2 different Koren brands and Hyundai owns Kia

Scotty I feel the need to point out that Hyundai and Kia were the same brand since the early 2000s. Kia motors fell into receivership and they burned through cash trying to fend off a hostile takeover by Sangyong. Kia agreed to be acquired by Hyundai to prevent their buyout
