I have a 2008 sonata, and I'm confused about the 19 wires (not including the xm radio harness) my after market harness only has 12 wires…. Is it due to there being an amplifier within the factory receiver? I hope that's the issue because I do plan on adding an after market amplifier next month. I am new to this and don't want to screw anything up…. How do I properly wire my 12 wire receiver into a multitude of 19 wires without a harness adapter? The wiring adapter that's available on Amazon and everywhere else I look DOES NOT FIT the 2008 sonata wiring harness, not even close to a fit! So I want to figure out how to properly wire, anyhow. As I said this is just the first step of many in upgrading my cars audio. So basically, I haven't been able to figure out which wires are "extra" or if there really are "extra wires" within the 19 that I must connect to 12….. I have looked up diagrams and schematics on the 2008 V6 Sonata audio system, but it's not written in a way that I can understand. I found this video VERY helpful in removing the factory receiver, I would love to see a video on putting an after market receiver into the 2008 sonata… I did notice that the receiver that you removed did not have the XM radio wiring harness, mine does, but I don't want to use it. My new receiver is just low wattage and simple, something to start from. It's these 19 wires that are VERY confusing to me. I know that I will need a wire cutter/stripper, a crimper, and some plastic connectors…. I can pick that all up pretty cheaply at AutoZone. Would you recommend a voltage reader? Or any other tools? We need a video to put back together what we took apart, please. I love your channel and have told some friends to watch them. A few people are interested in the outcome of my project that is in a little pause at the moment, I don't want to mess up the wiring and I want to have a better understanding of this for future projects involving after market amp and speakers….
