There is a little knob holding the outside door handle in place on Elantra.
It broke and I want to replace it myself. Do I need to remove the door
panel to do that?
Thanks. There is non-moving piece on a 2007 Elantra outside handle. I
called my dealer and he said the same thing. So I removed the panel, which
on a 2007 is much easier to do (only two screws under tow square plastic
covers), and I realized you actually do no have to remove the panel. There
is a small round opening (1 inch) on the side of the door covered with a
rubber plug. This is your access to the back of what I call knob, and where
there is a little screw that holds it in place.
