+Thomas Clyburn Glad this video could help you. Thanks for sharing.

+bill12s I did not use torque specs, I just tried to put them as tight as I
found them. Not the best idea but it seemed to work. I also couldn’t find
torque specs in the manual.

Hurricane Floyd says:

I dont even see why they bother to put hoods on modern vehicles the way
they put all those dumb useless plastic covers over everything.

Ting Lui says:

so when you’re removing the manifold you dont actually have to remove the
throttle body? just the intake tubes that you have to remove?

tibbysteve says:

Changed my plugs on my 03 Gtv6 when I first got it. It was such a pain in
the ass I’ll never do it unless I absolutely have to. Might even pay some
shop to do it.

Thomas Clyburn says:

Hi Guy, I looked at this before I decided to do it myself. Well, it turned
out great. Spent a little less than 6 hours on it and just short of $100.00
for parts too. Didn’t have to even take any pictures to reassemble. Fired
up the first time and ran smooth as a new born baby’s bottom. Thanks for
the video.

xcountrycowboy says:

That kit looks good. You may need some longer sockets for some areas
though. Make sure it comes with a spark plug socket as well if you do
decide. Sorry I didn’t go to much detail with the manifold removal. It
would have taken a while.

Lov3sponge says:

Thank you! Great video although I would have liked to see more details.
But, I was able to find a tutorial for this on new tiburon dot com. They
have some really good DIYs but, your video helped me see that I can
actually do this! ahah okay, well, I’m gonna invest in a set although 200
is a little much for me right now.. what do you think of the craftsman 51
pc set? It’s called ( MAX AXESS Mechanics Tool Set ) or something like that
just incase you need to google it. Thanks!

bill12s says:

Do you recall the torque specs for putting the intake manifold back on??

xcountrycowboy says:

I don’t see why not. If the plastic doesn’t melt then I would think the
paint would stay on.

Lov3sponge says:

Hi, where did you get your tool box from? And which tutorial did you follow
to do this? You mentioned that this was your first time but, you seemed to
know where everything was. I wanna change my spark plugs :/

xcountrycowboy says:

I took some pictues to make sure everything looks the same when I put
things back but I didn’t have to look at them because It was easy enough to
fiqure out. The rear 3 bolts on the intake manifold were a pain to put back
because of the limited space, having skinny fingers help I guess.

00WoW00 says:

My local dealership said they charge $400 to replace to replace the plugs.
You make it look a lot easier than the picture they painted.(Go figure)
Thanks for the video.

Mr760productions says:

Was it hard to memorize where all the wires go? Did you have trouble
putting everything back together

xcountrycowboy says:

The I bought the tool box at Lowe’s it’s a Kobalt 200pc set for $200 I
believe but it has almost everything I’ve needed including a spark plug
socket and extension, there is cheaper. I didn’t really follow a specific
tutorial I just watched other videos on changing spark plugs on V6 engines
and kinda fiquired it out from there. The hardest part is removing the
intake manifold. There is quite a few bolts, hoses, and electrical
connections that need to be removed in order to do on this engine.

Uhm….Uhm….?!?!

technogeek5509 says:

Alrighty, thanks!

technogeek5509 says:

Do you know if it is ok to use a heat resistant paint to coat the plastic
cover on the motor?

dean mcsherry says:

done it today took me 3 hours to get it off its not so easy to get the
inlet manifold off
