Have a 2006 h3 could it be the hub assembly when turning feel like it brakes. Then when press gas feel like it hops bought a new cv axle and only lasted 3 days any ideas
35mm socket may fit if worn or stretched(or with a sledgehammer), but the actual size in my H3 is 36mm(as a metric standard), and preferably a long socket, as the axle head bottoms inside the shallow socket and may slip.
How can you tell if you have a bad hub? Or a bearing? When driving my h3 I feel a vibration when turning on the freeway to the left, but not to the right.. I thought it was just my big stupid tires, but I am not sure. Anyone elaborate for me?
That bearing practically fell out on its own.. Hmmm lmfao
great help. Do you have torque the nuts?
Good video. Straight to the point.
I’m with on not wasting time “torquing to spec” all that. You can feel where 15mm’s need to be. And the hub needs to be really tight.
Anyway. I would say to throw some antiseize or moly on the axle splines and where the hub sits in the knuckle.
FYI someone quoted my mother in law $1,000 to do this job lol. I’m just here for the tool list.
I think the fact you just replaced the axle, and that made it slide on and off really easy is a bit miss leading vs what people are gonna find. I’m in Florida, so I don’t expect issues without snow here.
good job and honest. because some other mechanics will charge 2 or 3 hours job. like robbery.
Thank you for nice video bud.
Hi… My hummer h3, 2008, when I turn ac thermostat on the dashboard to a level less than (max) it will be hot directly, that means only can do on max, any answer from anybody please, how to solve this issue?
No Never Seize??
You could hold the camera on YOUR HEAD , it would be much better !
Or on your Chest .
Have two cameras on tripods so you get different angles to edit.
I;M DOWN LOADING THIS VIDEO THIS IS GOOD STUFF
is 35mm the right size for the axle nut? I tried googling and everyone seems to say its 36mm.
Do you use the same axle nut or do you have to get a new one?
Good job. Thank you very much
After the hub was removed, could the axle be pulled as well? Going to replace both hubs on my 06 H3 and the CV axles need replaced as well.
What was that tool you used to push the axel out
So what are the torque specs? Specifically on the three 15mm bolts, and the 35mm axle nut? I have to do this this weekend…
How much does this job cost? Thanks
What wrench are you using. I just did this and had a heck of a time getting those bolts loose. thanks for the video it is great.
Good jod tanks
