I just replaced the right front passenger one on my 2005 Grand Marquis and
it’s similar with the four 18mm bolts. It was a real **** to remove it
because rust had developed. It took a chisel and a lot of hammering and
prying and PB Blaster and time to finally get the assembly out. A pipe on
the end of the rachet helps immensely in removing and tightening the bolts.
Be sure to remove any rust with a wire brush and apply grease when
installing it so it will come out easier if it ever needs to be replaced
again and to prevent rust.

Wow, I never would of thought you as a IT tech being a wrench head but then
you said you had been a mechanic. Good Job.

I love car mechanic vids. Work on my own as much as I can.

straydogg13 says:

If you cannot get a torque wrench on it and personally i would try and get
it on that…ut if you cannot you can scratch a mark on the head of the
bolt and also on the metal it screws into so the lines line up….and then
keeping the bolts separate to know which one goes where. Then when you put
it back together you could put it back just like it was.

Never had a car come back with problems? My best friend was driving his
Ford Probe through Minnesota (when we were in College) and all of a sudden
his front right tire exploded out and to the right and went airborne. It
bounced down the street and luckily didn’t hit anyone or any other
vehicles. Be careful without the right specs.

NewRevolutionVenture says:

It’s got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty cubic inch plant, it’s got
cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks, it’s a model made before catalytic
converters, so it’ll run good on regular gas. What do you say? Is it the
new Bluesmobile or what?

I love the movie, love the quote, and this clip is perfect for it 🙂 I dig
your vids man!

dd8209 says:

Hey Jsnip the axles require the wheel rim to be able to vent off the heat
built up by the breaks so make sure you sand down the surface area of the
rim that makes contact with the break rotor and the inside and outside of
the break rotor and the wheel bearing then apply a coating of anti seize
where you sanded to allow better heat transfer and to prevent corrosion
build up. This corrosion is what caused the wheel bearings to prematurely
fail in the first place on many of the replacement parts after 2 years.
Peace
