Its not about being a poser. Automatic shifter just look shit. Its about
style and looks not manual vs. automatic. Looks way better man. nice work.

Martin Manzano says:

Kelly Guzman says:

Up to what year does the car have to be to be able to do this. Can u do it
to any automatic car?

Matthew Tran says:

where did you get that shift boot man? ive been looking for one. i want
that exact same one!

David Armstrong says:

Thanks Did a great job I am replacing my shifter knob !!!

Tinytacohead says:

All the automatics I’ve had experience with, (read: early-mid 90’s), were
electronically controlled enough to not allow such. I have no idea for
Mustang’s though.

@p4ndiamond Momo

Jonathan Rivera says:

just get a manual transmission

Darian Trevino says:

Hey. I know you commented a month ago, but the wiring still works. The only
difference is that the button on the stock shifter has a relay to keep the
signal going. But if you install a toggle switch and wire the O/D to the
toggle it will still function. I just did this a couple of hours ago so i
had to figure that out. But I hope this helps. 🙂

Vassana Morrill says:

you made this look a lot easier then it actually was lol. Well done. But i
have a question, You said if you do it the other way “Its like have the
button down all the time”, Thats how i did mine but the car wont shut off
unless the button is released. Is there a way to make it ?

Jonathan Rivera says:

I want to put a auto nob on my manual just for shits and giggles

Stephen Bond says:

looks good but its a fucking auto not stick

ItzKingJustin says:

If you have “free range of the gears” that means it can accidentally get
hit into reverse while driving and ruin your transmission ?

jsrusso88 says:

What brand is the shifter knob and what kind having trouble finding it

Tinytacohead says:

Most car enthusiasts don’t need writing to tell them what gear they’re in,
regardless of transmission type. As for bumping it into the wrong gear, I
can’t say for Mustangs, but all the auto’s I’ve dealt with electronically
wouldn’t allow such a dramatic gear change.. whether you pull the stick
into said gear or not. (they were all early-mid 90’s ATX’s as well/not new
manumatic type’s etc)

Greg Green says:

@hackersarchangel Hey thanks bud! Haha looking back I don’t really know why
I put it there, it was under the boot so it’s hidden but if I ever want to
take it off now I got a switch there, but eh it works. Make sure you get a
momentary switch as well. 🙂 Good luck!

VampsDLc says:

@iamtheultimate i have a automatic car but my car have two buttons one at
the dop and one more little one at the right side .. so i can drop from 5
gear to 4 .. if i want to install a new knob what can i do with the seccond
button?

Patron022 says:

can the boot come out or does it click in place?

Greg Green says:

@Maxxstaa Best way to go!

kronicskater321 says:

Patron022 says:

Chazmanian D says:

If i cut the overdrive wires will i be able to put the wires back on the
factory shifter?

beaglemonster says:

looks like a fake manual

thirdgenguy17 says:

Nice how to video, very helpful thanks!

Tyler Jacobs says:

I did it, but my key got stuck. How do you make it where the key will come
out when u turn the car off?

p4ndiamond says:

what brand is that knob ?

Portal Time says:

I have a question. If i was just replacing the knob to my manual shifter i
would just do the 1st step correct?

Greg Green says:

@MrOjmk Not really, lol. If it’s functional I suppose it works just fine! I
had to do alot of shit different to mine to make it work, same with your
application, it’ll most likely be different, just as long as it works, and
makes you happy is all that matters.

KillaKam2013 says:

Where did you order the knob from ?

David Givens says:

Okay so i found this video and i liked it alot! But i had a few questions
… i have a 1997 base mustang and i wanted to do this … so when i took
of the shifter after loosening the alen wrench screw i pulled it off but
the O/D switch ripped off…. so i was wondering if its still “workable”
from what happened and if i just cut the wire and mount the switch to the
wire and also will the mod still work if the fork bar thing is not taken
out? so please get back to me soon! thank you! great vid!..

austin weidman says:

Step 1. Don’t drive an automatic

Kelly Medley says:

Thanks for the vid Greg ima do this on my automatic firebird! Only thing is
I don’t have a shirt with ripped off sleeves so ima be winging it 🙁
