Carlos Vreal says:

thanks eric! just stole my first set of wheels!

Trail's End says:

“how to steal wheels, potentially harm your trans and claim warranty fraud”
you even look shady.. neat tip though.

Garry Burgess says:

My $0.02 worth – when you are banging stuff that’s making a loud noise,
wear hearing protection, otherwise eventually your ears will ring 24/7
driving you nuts and degrading the quality of your life. And when you get
old, your ears will drastically reduce your hearing acuity. Trust me on
this, I’m an expert on that problem.

Spearfisher1970 says:

Thank you. I bought a set of lock nuts just over a year ago, then lost the
key. I didn’t know that I lost it, of course, until I had a rear wheel
cylinder leaking badly. I also used a 12-point based on your
recommendation. 7/8″ was too big, and while 13/16″ seemed a bit small, it
was all I had that was a step lower than 7/8″. Tried it three times – the
last was a last ditch effort to hammer it on there the whole way (I didn’t
want to ruin it if I didn’t have to). The socket split once I got it on
there that deeply, but the socket also held enough to allow me to get the
locking lug nut off. So as of now I have a new rear wheel cylinder on that
side. :-)

jarry Deee says:

Thank you. The morons that put my new tires on lost my key and did nothing
about it. Now i need to put brakes on my car, this helps a lot. As for
stealing, if he knows this, dont you think the criminals have figured it
out by now…get real.

Josh River says:

Im needlessly sharing my experience here…but i had the outer portion of a
lock break on my old Lexus LS400 as I was trying to remove it. Even using a
socket specifically designed for this type of thing was no help. When is
was all said and done I ended up using a dremil and little cut off wheels
just to get it enough of the lug gone so I could break it the rest of the
way off and had to replace the stud. Some slight damage to the wheel. I
hate these effin locks!

Proctor Silex says:

Neat tip! I never would have thought of that. I would weld a big nut on.

Michelle johnson says:

I like the straight forward-ness and humour of this guy, you’re alright
bud. Thanks by the way.

Dan bells says:

What if the lock spins? my wheel is on the back of my truck and the stupid
key gets jammed if i attempt to open it.

otakop67 says:

If the car is a’ rockin’, the wheel’s not unlockin’!

Q8 Fly says:

I removed 1 lock with the key,but the keys inner pattern is ruined now..i
tried your way but no luck!

Trav Vino says:

Or.. If you are a technician for a certain cable company, their are 2
patterns of wheel locks that match 2 lock keys on 2 cable peds that you
need for routine jobs.

James Every says:

Thanks for the advice – I find your videos really helpful

Russ Newton says:

Nice hack, but for professionals, there are tools made to do this.

kretz hunt says:

Someonr stole my sweet rims. F**k

frankenstrat25 says:

its much easier just to use an extractor socket lol theyre actually made
for this.

Tom Rominski says:

Now go get a new regular lug nut so you don’t have to deal with this ever
again :)

ZoniacHD says:

Why the hell would someone put this on youtube. “How to steal wheels.” May
as well not even have em if you can just look on the internet and find out
how to steal them

Johnny Mendoza says:

Omg..really..too loud for you???what’s next, a a has mat suit for “just in
case”…what’s this world coming too..hey good job.loved your advise..cus I
was like; DUHHH. And last but not least, keep up the good work….only in
america dud.

Ricky Bossy says:

an easier way to tell if it’s spinning or not is make a mark on a spot of
the socket with a permanent marker

foreverwood1963 says:

good info

John ming says:

I have tools for this why smash you good scokets

Marcus Adams says:

But Eric, how do I get the lug nut out of my socket?
:P

Freezy322 says:

Try that with a BMW ;)

thedarkone123123 says:

Did you get a free new thingy from the lifetime warranty? The manufacturer
really needs to look at their policy.

Dong Duong says:

Thanks, this good way to take them off the wheels faster just 5 minutes I
took 4 wheels off no need to spend money to buy tools. Thanks again .

LJRossPhoto says:

And I thought I was safe with the wheel locks -_-

Debbie Dude says:

Or you could buy a key from autozone for a few bucks.

alexandra chen says:

Time to steal some rims.

Quick way from what I just learnt.

All you need is a cordless impact, 4 cheap sockets.

Some bricks, bam!

Rims! @ cost of 4 cheap sockets. (Bricks could be stolen from building
sites)

Thanks Eric, now I need a better way to protect my enkies.

Ethan R says:

How do you put it back on?

Reinaldo Gonzalez says:

Nice advantage to people who likes to stole rings…

210peanutswaye says:

luckily for us and unluckily for thieves, you would make a helluvalotta
noise doing all this shit. If you don’t notice all this shit going on in
front of your house, they deserve the wheels…

tylerp76 says:

Now how do you get them back on? lol

FrozenHaxor says:

Ha, you can’t really do that to the BMW ones.

Joe Langel says:

When it slips put some gojo with pumice on it then apply shocker. Won’t
slip. Works for me.

ed si says:

Eric would a metal drill bit work drill in the center of the key lock ? The
hammer and punch tool is frustrating. Any other ideas? Lost key lock 🙁
thanks

trevorispimpn says:

I bought my car and the dude lost the wheel lock so I granded a notch in
the wheel lock and used the flat part on the four way and stuck it in the
notch I cut in so it was like a flat blade In a flat head nut
