How To Install Hummer H1 Tire Runflats (Ratchet-Strap Edition)

How To Install Hummer H1 Tire Runflats (Ratchet-Strap Edition)

We’ll show you how to install the most common type of rubber runflat insert found in military surplus 37×12.5R16.5 HMMWV tires — and using tools you’re likely to already have in the garage!

The tire used in this demonstration is a BFGoodrich Baja T/A, but these same installation techniques still work with the military 37″ Goodyear Wrangler MT oz, the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R, and the newly released Goodyear Wrangler Enforcer MT.

This insert is the low-profile, single-piece Hutchinson VFI rubber runflat (P/N: VF0010), which has the added benefit of being a double beadlock once installed on a 16.5″ military 2pc humvee rim.

So do you recommend the BFG KO2s then? How quickly do run flats wear out the tires for someone who will be daily driving the vehicle?

i watch this take upwards of 45 minutes sometimes. is it this easy and fast with basically all humvee variants?

I’m about to go try this method but with the Hutchinson strap tool instead of the ratchet you used. I’m hoping this goes even half as easily as yours did. Thank you for the video!!

Clash Of Clans SHIELD says:
