How To Install 7in Jeep Lights On A Hummer H3

How To Install 7in Jeep Lights On A Hummer H3

Hey what’s going on everyone! Today I am going to show you how you can install 7in Round Headlights on your Hummer H3 for around $200 to $250. Now I know this is a long video, but many parts can be skippable. Refer to the timestamps down below. The reason why this video is so long is that I designed this video from the perspective of somebody who is brand new to the H3 and doesn’t have much wrenching experience, so if you are more experienced you can definitely skip over some parts to get into the core of the video. Also there is a couple different ways to do things depending on your situation and what you want to do for your install.

Here Are All The Timestamps For The Video:

0:00 – Intro
1:55 – An Overview OF The 7” Lights
4:30 – The 7in Headlight Adapters
8:23 – Grille Guard Removal
11:23 – Grille Removal
14:07 – Headlight Housing Removal
16:30 – Removing The Entire Headlight assembly – (Method 2)
19:18 – Powering The Headlights (Low & High Beam Functions)
21:15 – Wiring Harness Option #1 – Relay Kit
33:49 – Wiring harness option #2 – Polarity Converter Box
37:36 – Quick Info About How To Wire Up The Turn Signal and DRL Functions
38:10 – Reinstalling The Headlight assembly For Those Who Did Method 2
39:36 – Mounting The New 7in Headlights To The Headlight Assembly

Update:
Hey everyone just a quick update! Since this video’s release there has been a small change to the Lased Design’s 7in Adapters. Basically, the little studs that connect to the main part of the adapter have received a V2 update. Instead of putting your little studs directly on the ball heads of the factory headlight assembly, you now reuse those little specialized clips that are the OEM headlights and screw them onto the studs. If you have recently ordered a set of adapters, you will notice that the studs on the kit have small holes instead of large holes. Please do not try and bore a much larger hole like you see me doing in the video. If you have the V1 version, you can upgrade to the V2 version, but it honestly doesn’t make that much of a difference. If you are not quite sure what I am talking about check out this photo of what the new V2 studs look like: https://laseddesigns.com/collections/frontpage/products/v2-mounts-for-7-round-headlight-adapters

Could you show a video on installing a rear bumper? For the Hummer H3!

Jorge Cartagena says:

Hi where can a purchase a head light adapter for my hummer h3 ?

Levi H. says:

Question…. The LED lights draw the same amount of current/wattage as the Halogen so there is no need for a relay (usually needed for increased amperage demand) So the only reason is for reversing polarity (or your option #2 using the polarity converters to reverse the polarity). Why not just move the pins on the adapter harness to the appropriate orientation? The pin already fell out of the adapter harness while you were doing the install so it should be real easy to swap. I have been considering buying these and would personally want just buy the weather pack connector and cut off the H4 plug on the light and wire on a H13 to plug in to factory. No additional harnesses, relays, fuses or adding a circuit to the battery post. Less things to fail while on the road or trail. This is what I did when i bought a pair of Rigid Amber D2 in my ARB bumper. I wanted to keep the Rigid light connector so i bought the male connector and pins online and cut off the trucks fog light connector and now the Rigid light pod plugs directly into the truck with a weather proof connector and no adapter harness or splice. Great videos by the way. Not to many people take the time to go into detail about projects like this, especially on vehicles the have as little support as our H3's

anthony nunez says:

The round headlamp that was installed is a 70watt and the other round headlamp that wasn't installed is 300watt. Would the wattage affect the relays being blown out? What would you recommend

Caddy Strophic says:

Hey! Thanks for the video! I've had the 7" led headlights for a few years now and I started having issues with them just recently, so i decided to go back to the drawing board and redo everything. Just put my new headlights in and used this wiring harness and everything worked out great. Thanks again.

Danielle Owens says:

Thank you so much for your videos on the Hummer H3! If it wasn't for you, I would have been fumbling through removing my brush guard and grille. Could you do a video on the wiper fluid pump?

Jamie Hage says:

I have a 2006 base model and thing is a beast. I am about to put an off road light package on it but this is what I have been looking for to convert to LED because the light issue. This was everything I needed, thank you for correct wiring and product links.

BakerOne says:

I must admit those LED headlights do put out much better illumination. Very good job.
But I have to really commend you on this video and its production value, it is superb.
One question, how do you stop weather / rain getting into the truck from around the seven inch LED headlight ?
I see a large space around the headlight and nothing between it and the front grille

Moha Essa says:

Nice job, dear and full explanation .. I have a question .. regarding installing 7 inch of my Hummer H2 car .. the same or different steps. If possible, make a video for that

Daniel Pimentel says:

You can do a 2 hours video and I still watching it from to start to the end. Greetings from Mexico.

Ryan Williams says:

Do you know if the H3 requires 7 inch led headlights with anti-flicker? Would they work without this feature/adapter?

Vtec Banger says:

Wow you know how to make a video bud

ad74710 says:

one of the top channels that i subscribed on, very useful for any hummer h3 owner, well done. any plan for new videos?

Luis z28 says:

You dont really need extra harness… I've switched wires at H4 connector side, and then it worked just like a factory harness

Lildave81 says:

Do you change the whole thing when a bulb burn out or you can get the bulbs anywhere?

Juan Santiago says:

Great video

Ricovette says:

Thank you so much for this upload! You've been a great help! Thumbs up and a sub from me… Stay safe… Rico ('06 Black H3)

Yahya Yusif says:

Where can I get the 7 inch headlight bracket like the one or any for my 2008 Hummer to buy? I search online I couldn't find. Thank you.

E Z says:

At 39:44 you start to install the spacer by tapping and drilling them. A much easier way is to remove the clips from the headlight assembly and actually installing them on the spacers and then snapping the everything back on.The clips do come off the assembly. Just a FYI.
It worked for me.
One question I connected the DRL to the #7 on the fuse box but my lights stay on even when I turn off the ignition.
A little help plz.
Thanks.
