Thanks! what is that patch called?
I love how nice it looked on the outside yet how destroyed it was on the
inside. Nice job Greg.
Excellent thank you..
Great info.
tire damaged like that could not be repaired due to the side wall damage.
just because you use a patch plug combo on the puncture does not mean that
the tire is safe.
OMG! i cant believe what i just saw! This tire is way beyon repair as it
heated so much the inner linner shreded. All you guys repair tires like
that should get good insurance.
Thanks! I’d be happy to answer any other questions on auto repair.
This is exactly how they taught me how to fix a tire back in auto school.
Yes, it’s more expensive to fix than a simple plug but you need to ask
yourself if your life is worth an extra $10-15. Great video.
You’re misinterpreting what he is saying. He isn’t stating putting a
plug/patch in will make this particular tire safe, it is obviously junk.
Instead he is showing you what you’d miss if you didn’t install the correct
repair plug/ patch from the inside out, which is what many people do.
Start at :54 and listen carefully, he didn’t state they repair tires like
this, only he jumps from one subject to the next and kind of sounds like
putting this plug/patch in will make this tire safe which is untrue and I’m
very sure it was a small oversight when they did the video.
Have you ever used Safety Seal plug kits only kit approved for US military.
I have used them for 20 years never ever had a blowout. I could understand
a tire shop they don’t know if you drove around under inflated still why
patch it. Safety seal gets stronger with heat and seals better then any
patch I have seen.
So I can repair using a patch on a tire that has been flat driven, this
saved me about 100 bucks, thanks.
Man, good to know. I was thinking that plugs had replaced patches.
Thanks Greg! This is fascinating! I knew that patches were better than
plugs, but I never saw rubber dust before! Wow! Scary. I only wish
everyone checked and maintained the correct tire pressure on their
vehicles. Do you think that the greater use of TPMS will adequately
address and solve this problem?
