This is a home DIY rebuild of a BW4494 (NR6) Transfer Case that was clunking in 4 low. Also suitable for the BW4493 (NR4)

I bought a rebuild kit including the chain from amazon to suit a BW4493 which is identical to my 4494.
If you got hummer transfer case problems I recommend you read the troubleshooting section of the engineering manual to help diagnose your problem. Its very good at explaining all symptoms.
*** DISCLAIMER***: I am not a mechanic. I have never touched a transfer case before. I’m just an idiot with some tools. This is easy enough to diy if you take your time.
My problem was the input shaft thrust washer inside the low range planetary gear. There are many things that can go wrong with a transfer case.
