I saw your other vid of you driving. That must suck to have problems again,
I bet HUMMERS are expensive to fix. I’m actually gonna start lookin for a
HUMMER H1 myself. Cool truck.

couchfighter says:

cracked flywheel??? check it and let me know?

FuzzmuzzEx says:

I’m on the HML and flassoffroad every day. As you can see in the
description and in the other comments the issue has been resolved.

s172mch says:

sounds like the starter wheel is not lowering like it should the gear that
hits the flywheel lowers once the motor is running but yours is still
engaged and its gonna ruin the gear because the motor is not meant to turn
with the starter for long kinda hard to explain

gsptank44 says:

sounds almost as if your starter is still turning when the engine is
running. the next time that you start the truck wack yes hit the bottom of
the starter with a hammer. might get it unstuck. notm a perminate fix but
its worked in the past.

2003H1 says:

you need to talk to some guys on different hummer forums

Roschell Diggs says:

Who stumbled across the bent piece of metal? That DID sound awful. Glad you
got it fixed.

TheTopsam2 says:

The starter gear holder of your starter still pushing starter rotary
without signal to the engine gear the result is collision gears
intermittently 1-so you need to test the circuitry connected from the power
switch+plugs+starter, 2-make sure that the screws of your starter is
release and taut the starter in exhaust or in something closer away from
the engine without separating electricity wires on him then you will see
clearly and closely the problem+how his performance and running works.

lecii1737 says:

that is not the original starter that is a delco remy starter the original
is a prestolite we have them in stock your starter will die soon.

s172mch says:

its definently the starter gear not going to original position try a brand
new starter or something not a reman or could be ur flywheel not letting
the gear go down

FuzzmuzzEx says:

Got it fixed. See the description. New starter did not require a shim.
Turns out to be a piece of bent metal from the bell housing somehow got
bent into the flywheel.
