Two things: my 2000 civic does not have two bolts holding the brake
caliper. There’s one at the bottom, but the top has some sort of clipped
or fixed hinge to swing the caliper up. Second, cutting the bold- are you
sure this is such a good idea? I know the reason why, but wouldn’t a more
correct way be to remove the rotor? Or disassemble to get better access?

Yea try to remove a wheel stud on a 2001 Honda CR-V…good Luck!..lol…I
had to use a wizard and cut the broken stud….I did exactly what you
explained in this video and I had to rethread the stud b/c I damaged the
stud while hammering in through the hub b/c of the spindle was in the way

any idea if this will work on the front wheel of a 1998 Odyssey? Thank
you.

doing this to my 92 civic thanks to les schwab upselling me all new lug
nuts and studs. those awesome professionals charged me for 16 and only
replaced 15 as well as cross threaded about 8 of them. thanks guys. my
question however is why not remove the rotor if its just 2 small phillip
head screws? is that for more stability when pounding out the studs? i
removed my rotor and been beating on them studs as well as pb blast. not
really budging. any suggestions?

Dan DIY says:

what if there is no grove on the hub for clearance for the stud head? on a
1994 civic there is no grove for this easy install. Does the hub need
removed from the drive axial to get the clearance? how is this done? I have
a manual and of course it is not shown there. Thanks for the Video !

Have to replace studs on a 2000 honda civic. Do not see groove in dust pan
as you say. Do you have any suggestions

Great vid! Will this work for a 2005 honda civic (ep) 5 stud? As somebody
‘s cross threaded mine and I’d rather not take the wheel bearing and
everything out. Also will the stud still be be as strong with part of the
top cut away?

Thanks for the vid, worked like a champ, and saved me a lot of time.

Brad Pleski says:

And I was about to remove the knuckle to do this. Brilliant!!!

Cutthroat Cardo says:

when removing the brake caliper. do you have to do anything to your breaks
when you put them back on?
