Richard Salazar says:

I would not do any of this to my car as instructed by this guy. Anyone know
a safer, less barbaric way to go about fixing the port?

John Byrd says:

Thanks, buddy! This is EXACTLY what I needed!

Dustin Jackson says:

so happy i found this…just bought a siriusxm receiver and found that my
aux port was messed up

RetroTronic says:

There IS a proper way to do this. Don’t butcher your car like this guy. Do
your research guys….especially if you are just doing repairs on the aux
port and need to reuse it.

Elijah Linnen says:

Honda dealership sells the part for $14

Seven Li says:

really appreciate this video

Nestor Carpintero says:

Awesome, worked great.

Roy White says:

Thanks for vid. Just a heads up for anyone else with this problem, on my
’06 coupe, the only thing needing replacing was the audio input itself, so
after popping off the “AUX” cap with a screwdriver and pulling out the
audio input with pliers, I just left the “socket” piece in the car. When
the new part arrived I just pulled the cap and input from the new one and
put them into the old socket still in the car. Takes a little less time and
is a little easier on the car.

Thanks for posting this!

Joseph Cecil says:

Anyone know where to buy the harness that plugs into the back aux jack and
then to the radio or at least what that is called I cant seem to find it by
googling thanks in advance

TheJazzandbeyond says:

Update/DIY protip; If you are doing this on an ’06 hybrid, look up into the
cubby adjacent to the jack assembly and there is an access panel you can
pop that has 2 slots for a flathead/panel tool. pop tht sucker open, reach
your hand behind the jack assembly, easily remove cable male end, squeeze
those tabs together and push the assembly forward and it slides out with
minimal effort. Take that male end through the hole for the assembly, pop
it into that module THROUGH the assembly hole shove that sucker GENTLY back
into it’s hole right side up(with aux reading correctly) and you are done.
No visible scratches and took me about a minute and thirty seconds. If you
have that panel up in the top of the cubby, this job is a cinch for anyone
whose hand can fit in side the space(it;s fairly roomy)

Спасибо мужик!)

Kevin A says:

took no more than 10 minutes, thanks!!! i did not leave much damage like
you did however. I kept prying from the sides, i found it works better with
a knife (not kitchen knife). Using the plyers the “roots” came out and i
kept at it with the knife from the sides, worked like a charm.

Jeff Ahlstedt says:

Thanks for the video. I did exactly as you described and it worked
perfectly. Saved me $125!

Eric Toh says:

guys, i’m not able to find the part number in ebay. where u guys found the
part?

Jesse Lopez says:

Thank you man. I have been listening to the radio for the past 2 months
because I thought it would be harder. I’m jamming now! Thanks again!!!!!

AshleyAnnWorld says:

Thank you so much for this video! Everything worked perfectly, except I
couldn’t get the plastic part out. I found it easier to pull it down
towards the side of where there was an opening.

Curly Bee says:

This is a really easy fix although I wish you would have shown how you
pulled it out of the compartment because it took me 30 minutes until I just
started to cut the plastic. But other than that it was really simple.

ProjectPeanut says:

I have an 06 Civic and the same exact thing happened to my aux port! Thanks
for the vid!

abecx says:

The longer option is to pull the gauge cluster, then the stereo out and use
a butter knife to push the sides in on the AUX port to pull out instead of
prying against the plastic. It may take a bit longer but its easier on the
dash. Thanks for the video, it helped us do ours.

siurpeeman says:

this same thing happened to me! where can i get a replacement unit??

ukfan4sure1 says:

aux-i-lary. lol! It’s usually pronounced aux-zillary.. VERY nice vid.
Thanks for posting this!

Efrain Cortez says:

Good job explaining the whole process. Thanks!

82heartofalion says:

Thanks for the video. Changed my aux jack today

Rent249R says:

Thanks for this video and the part number. You just saved me a ton of
trouble and the $100 the dealer wanted to do this work. I actually did it a
little different than you did. I used a small flathead screwdriver to pry
the cap off the assembly (Same thing happened at $:20 in your vid) but then
I pushed the whole thing back into the dash and pulled it out the driver’s
side foot well. Unplugged it, and pushed the plug back up through the
original hole in the dash and connected the new one.

disaudio243 says:

Thanks so so so much for this vid. I literally just fixed it all in about
two hours. Yanked it out, went to Honda, bought the part, and put it back
in, and couldn’t be happier.

jjthetechguy says:

Hi, google this “installing an aux port on an 06 honda civic” and there
should be a post on 8th gen civic showing how a person did it. Do this at
your own risk. Hope this helps.

Zeph Gonzalez says:

I have an 06 civic that doesn’t have the aux port. it looks like you cut
the dimensions out to install the aux port. Do you have any idea if i can
install this part in my civic that doesn’t have the square cutout beneath
the power outlet? Do i need to purchase a harness, etc. etc. Thanks

jjthetechguy says:

Curly Bee sorry about that, I know its not an easy fix but I am glad that
you were able to fix your Aux and can now listen to your tunes! 🙂

jjthetechguy says:

Copy the part number under the about section and use your favorite search
or online shopping site to find it. A good price is about $22 already
shipped.

Chris Parks says:

Your video saved me about $100. Thank you thank you thank you!

SolidNate84 says:

Thanks so much mine just started doing that also so I need to replace that
piece also but thanks so much for this vid!!

adrian432TX says:

nice, going to have to try this on my 08.

jjthetechguy says:

I’m glad this was able to help you and save you some money

Adrian 737 says:

That’s exactly what I just did I was having a hard time trying to take it
out when I noticed i could see thru so I pushed it backwards and pulled it
from behind clipped it out and pushed the wire back thru a lot easier than
the process in this video

NaTiVEGaRY27 says:

Just did it! 🙂 took me like 5 minutes i guess i got lucky lol Thanks
again!

Curly Bee says:

THANK YOU!!!

jjthetechguy says:

I’m glad it helped 🙂

Adam Schubert says:

Just did this myself.. Went to my local Honda Dealer got the part for just
over $27.00 with tax… I got a screwdriver and pulled the front off the
aux. pulled out the components, stuck the screw driver in and gave the
screwdriver a little twist and it popped off the little ear, did that on
both sides, and it slid right out.. took me a matter of 5 mins..

Karlo Martinez says:

Yoooo thanks for the video. I’ve been looking for this for a while now. I
will have this done to my civic 2007 this week. Thanks again!

Justin DeLaney says:

Found an easy way…rather than attempting to “pinch” out, initially, I: 1)
Used pliers, and pulled the actual aux input…first the casing tore out,
then the actual “innards” 2) There are two “openings” on the side…I took
narrow flat head, and jammed in there to break the clasps that hold it
in… 3) this pushed the who piece in, which was a little hard to fish
out…used the same flat head to fish it out from behind (underneath) the
console…by steering wheel those steps did little-no dmg

Ann Vu says:

what do you call that l shape thing you connected to your auxillary? I want
to buy one for my car. Please n thank you:)

JaysandLevis says:

Link to the aux part please

Adam Schubert says:

My local Honda Parts Dept $27.00 plus tax

jjthetechguy says:

Hi Ann its called a Right angle adapter, so try searching for 3.5mm right
angle male to female adapter…Hope this helps 🙂

jjthetechguy says:

Hi, that I know of unless your using the IPOD adapter for an ipod you cant
do this straight from factroy. I’ve heard of this thing, GROM audio, its
suppose to be able to do that after that is installed. Hope this helps 🙂

Andy says:

Hey, thanks a lot. My pals’ honda just developed this issue. Thanks for
being so thorough with it and showing us all the different angles (sans
focus issues 🙂 Really great tutorial.

Russell Symmes says:

Thanks for this……It only took me about 5 minutes and 25 bucks. I
wouldn’t have been able to to the old aux jack out without your helpful
instructions! Thanks Again man!

jr5455 says:

I have a 2010 Honda civic with a built in aux how can I use the controls on
the car (seek/skip) to change songs? Any help would be greatly appreciated

happy i found this video, I just bought the part off ebay, Thank you for
