D-Ray, Thank you for another informative DIY video. Is the process about
the same on an ATC 200S. My right shock is leaking oil. Typically you
would replace the seal and the dust cover correct?
Glad to be of service, have a goodun’!
Shoot naw bro! To a true enthusiast it just a labor of love to get an old
bike back up an’ runnin’……I love it!
its hubert rowland’s dad!

Nice job Bro, one of my least favorite jobs if some dick has made a hash of
it in the past before it came into my hands, had my fair share of those bro
H&R
Tell me ’bout it bro! Thanks.

YOU

Pt 2 now. Cheers n regards
Great video…you’ve inspired me to do the same on my 97 rmx250! Great
camera work, and you are a very efficient mechanic.
Hi, I’ve got the 1985 Paris Dakar modle XL600LMF I’m doing a nut and bolt
referbish on it and need to take the fork tubes off to have the bottom
slides re anodised but neither will seperate once stripped down the manual
describes it as you’ve done on the 600R cheers
You are legend – make it seem so simple, thanks!!!
Hi remove bottom hex retaining bolt on mine but cant get the fork tube to
seperate from the lower slider on either of the forks- any ideas cheers
Just did my fork seals on my 86 XL600R, and your video made it wicked easy!
Thank you
What bike are you working on? Model and year?
Great video, a few pieces of information that would be handy: What do you
use to clean the parts? The seals should be coated with ATF or fork oil
when installing them. Torque specifications: Axle: 36-58ft/lbs Axle holder
nuts: 7-10ft/lbs Lower Fork bolt: 11-18ft/lbs Upper fork cap: 11-22ft/lbs
Upper Pinch bolts: 13-22ft/lbs Lower Pinch bolts: 22-25ft/lbs What the
specified fork fluid is: Dextron ATF or SAE 10W fork oil
There are several different forks designs out there and most of them have a
bushing mounted on the bottom of the fork tube, requiring you to “slide
hammer” the fork seal out after removing the bolt in the fork lower and the
seal circlip. Those types of forks also require a seal driver to install
the new seal. Thanks for watchin’.
well done 🙂 im subbed you are efficient with your info and don’t waist any
time nor do you babble on 🙂
Thank you, thank you , thank you/
Thanks man, I try to keep it clean, and not be OCD about it! lol!
I just finished the forks on my 84 XL350R. It was easy thanks to your
video. Thank you.
