This method works just did it today! Got the key cut at True Value hardware store for $10 , aftermarket FOB off Amazon was $18 prime. , for less than $30 got a brand new key FOB , remember , you must remove the RFID chip from the old Key Fob and install the new one. Great Video, dealership wanted $147 for everything.
Cost me 25 for case and key made at ace hardware and that is with them putting case and key back together. Honda was going to charge me 150 . Yea me
My Honda accord key fob shell is broken. I have all the spares key, remote etc except shell. Can I get the shell alone and fit in the spares I have ?
Can you just transfer the "circuit board" from the old key to the new key?
How about $180.00 dollars on long island at the honda dealer. Oh two hr with too.
Thanks for the post! I followed these instructions to replace my '07 Honda Ridgeline key that had broken off. I ordered a replacement key online. At first the Honda dealer would not cut my replacement key but wanted to charge me $140 to replace with their key. After some discussion, they reluctantly cut my provided key. Saved about $125. Thanks again!
Need close ups to really understand what you are doing. Thanks.
