dony, i have a briggs 6.0 quantum and it ran like crap when i got it, so i
cleaned the carb and put it back on , and now when i try to start it, the
pull cord rips out of my hand and a puff of smoke comes out the carb.I was
thinking sheered fly wheel key , but it ran before i took the carb
apart.Any ideas ? maybe vapor lock ?

amtpdb1 says:

how hard and expensive is it to convert a sears eager 1 to electric start?

These are amazing lawn mowers, more options than my car it seems sometimes!
Hondas are great, the only time I ever get them in the shop is for tune ups
or people let them sit and the carb needs to be cleaned

donyboy73 says:

sheared key or maybe the blade is loose

I’m doing some video “catch up” today 12 shifts, and a 80km commute can slow
a old guy down..LOL.but I never miss a video Buddy.Nice mower! good tips

donyboy73 says:

lol, good idea

Marinemiketobe says:

Is there really a point for an electric start other than to aid those who
cannot physically pull the cord?

donyboy73 says:

thanks, some people thought it was hard to do so i thought i would make a
vid on this procedure

JPilot2 says:

Yes, you can do it yourself. Amen to that! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you, Don!

Marc Plante says:

how much is that battery?

DENNIS N says:

good thing its still good maybe $40.00 for new one

pontiachotshot says:

I made sure the blade was tight ,but it does come loose from the hard
kickbacks, but then i tighten the blade and it still kicks back,It didint
kick back untill i cleaned the carb. its werid , also when i spray starting
fluid into the carb or spark plug hole, it will rip the cord out of my
hands. But when their is no fuel in the carb or the spark plug hole, it will
pull just fine on the cord ! but as soon as you ad fuel it kicks back HARD

steven earnshaw says:

lawnmower shouldn’t have electricity, exept for spark

TheThecyclist says:

I take it that the battery is a rechargeable one so is it a good idea to
remove it and store it indoors during the winter?(the battery not the whole
mower obviously)

cody allen says:

hey, Dony. Quick question when is the “WHAT IM WORKING ON # 2” going to
come out. Love the idea of that video series. Can’t wait, wanna see how the
project turned out.

easydoz1 says:

Most mowers are one pull starting… Pull it once n if it don’t start tell
your folks it’s broke.
