Use a small pry bar or screw driver to pull the shaft (try and grab the
counter shaft nut) up into place. Another method is to bolt the cases
together and then flip the transmission so the counter shaft falls into the
snap ring groove.
I reused the washers and left all the bearings in place as I cleaned.
Yes I own it. It’s actually a Acura EL. Same as the civic.
Would this same procedure be the same on a Honda Civic 1994 EG
transmission?
I only replaced the one bearing. The second shaft clutch case bearing is
still in while I cleaned the case. You can replace all the bearings as
good measure, but I find only the one commonly fails.
my 99 integra mainshaft doesn’t wanna come out like something is holding it
back.
Thanks for this video! Going to attempt it on my 05 civic
Great video . I have a Toyota Yaris 1.0 manual,year 2000, it makes noise
when you drive in 1st and 2nd gears only, sounds like a tractor
…..everything else is fine , what could it be please. Your advise is
appreciated
Thanks a lot of this video, I just replaced this bearing on my sister’s
civic hybrid, saved her a lot of money doing it myself.
Is that civic your own ? I see you have more videos for it.
what is that bearing Honda part number please help cant get the right
bearing
Thanks very much for the fantastic video, I’ve never done anything like
this before but I will be attempting this on my ep2 thanks to your video,
greatly appreciated!!!
Thank you very much ! I will be doing this today as well. It was a good
video. Did you also replace the washers for anything or reuse those as well
? Should I take out the other bearings as I’m cleaning it ?
I noticed that all of the other bearings are out while you cleaned the
transmission. Did they all get replaced ? Or just taken out and reused ?
Thanks very much for this video and the reassembly one too! I’d never
opened up a transmission before and this video gave me the confidence to do
it. It stressed me out a bit, but the bearing has been replaced and the
loud growling noise is gone.
GREAT VIDEO!!!!THANKS!
