How to Replace Honda Key Fob Battery on Accord Civic CRV Pilot Ridgeline – CR1616 Change 2006

http://therenderq.com This video shows you everything you need to know how to change your key fob battery for Honda vehicles. I’ve detailed every step with close-up shots so you can follow along. This can be done in less than 2 minutes. If you follow along, you can save money by doing it yourself because it can cost more than $50 at a dealership, service shop or garage.

A dead battery in your key fob can be an inconvenience but changing the battery is pretty simple and that’s what I’ll show you today. This is the key from a 2006 Honda Pilot but you can still follow along this video if you have a mid to late 2000 year CRV, Accord, Civic, Ridgeline with a similar key fob. You can tell the battery is dead if the LED doesn’t light up when you push a button. You’ll need a CR1616 replacement battery and a micro screwdriver before continuing. Replacing the battery should take you less than 2 minutes when you get around to doing it. This screw is very small so once it’s out, put it somewhere safe so you don’t lose it. On the side of the key fob, there’s a little notch here you can use to crack it open. When removing the cover, pull it towards the direction of the key and it will separate quite easily.

Testing it out I can see that I’ve successfully replaced the battery and can use keyless entry on my Honda Pilot again. I can confirm with the LED lighting up when I press a button. Remember that this process is the same across many Honda vehicles and if you found this video helpful please let me know in the comments and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel for more how-to videos and product reviews.

A very clear explanation to how to replace the battery to the Honda key fob. Very nicely done. I think that you must have taken a good deal of time to edit your comments and explanation in order to create such an effective and simple video. Highly recommended.

I don’t know why but my screw was definitely locktited down. Nothing I did could break screw. I even tried heat gun. Had to drill screw out. Solved. Dad saved the day. I was able to snap the key fob back together without the screw. I used a dab I flex seal clear silicon in screw hole but it was not needed to keep fob together.
