Majic says:

You guys sure did show the hard way to replace the drive belt on those 1.7L Civics lol. You just have to LOOSEN the adjusting bolt(s) to remove each belt. You don't need to take the alternator or power steering pump off. This adds unnecessary steps to an easy job. I get you were replacing the alternator anyway, but if it's a "How to Change Your Alternator Belt" video, just keep it simple and make a separate video for that job.

B A says:

I don't have any of the special can of blue tape penetrating oil. Darn.
Just a little bit of it seemed to make that alternator look Brand New!

Kernal Skinny says:

Do you have to take the adjusting wing nut all the way off to get the belt on?

Vũ Thắng says:

thanks for your video. i fixed it myself and save some money. thanks you!

tc says:

This video was mostly helpful except for the part of the alternator adjustment screw. it was not mentioned which way the adjustment screw needed to be turned to drop the alternator enough to get the belt on. He obviously changed the alternator and he could of showed us the adjustment screw and what had to be done with it. It seemed like part of the video was cut out or edited out the part on the alternator adjustment screw.

Yeyo says:

I love your tutorials. Simple short and efficient. Thanks!

The513Warning says:

My 2005 Civic Coupe squeals sooo loud for about 20 seconds when I turn it on cold. Once it's warmed up, it stops. I tried changing the belt last night, but the top bolt on the alternator is partially rounded. Is the squeal from the belt due to lose tension? When I spray water on the ribbed side, it does temporarily stop squealing.

Christle Taylor says:

You made this so much harder than it had to be!

Daniel Beason says:

If u use a 27 mm scocet can free the alternator wignut

jose Prado says:

what is the actual size for the lock bolt for alternator adjuster lock bolt."

Shannon Rose says:

Holy crap don't remove the bolt on the alternator with the weird head, took me an damn hour to get it back on, just loosen it.

vicsamboncs says:

You put the 12mm large washer nut onto the wrong bolt you took it of from. You removed it from the right side by the power steering pump but replaced it on the left side for the pump bracket bolt

Christian Norris says:

Still have a squeak when the ac compressor kicks in. Should I tighten the wing nut more? Belt seems tight as is

LA. Roller says:

Takes me 6 mins if everything goes right

ac9ai says:

Great Video; just replaced the serpentine belts on my Civic. Thanks for leaving in the footage on what to do when parts get stuck and what to do.

megaton explotion says:

Hey do I have to adjust to the right side to adjust the belt I did it like that but it fells that is not that tight … please somebody help me

Kurt Merkle says:

Very good video! Great camera work and instructions! I changed my belts and the job was much easier because of this.

Wyatt Pennington says:

Trying to bypass my AC because the compressor is locked up on my 2001 civic. Should I buy a civic DX belt since they don’t have AC to begin with?

An Abstract Concept says:

Is the serpentine belt the same as the alternator belt?

Nebuchadnezzar says:

Do you need to take off the positive off of the battery too?

Johnny Wu says:

is the alternator belt aka the AC belt?

diy channel says:

What is the number/size of the stock alt belt of a cvic dimension?thnks!

Derick Brown says:

The locking nut is under the wingnut… Not on the bottom of the alternator. Took that bolt out and now can't tighten the alternator cuz I can't get that "locking nut" bolt back in.

Juice730 **** says:

Great video Mike, I’m actually getting ready to change the belt on my 02 Honda Civic this afternoon!

Cinca0989 says:

It appears you sell the 2001-2005 Civic alternator but not the alternator belt. Is this correct? Also wanted to pick up a power steering belt and thankfully I did see that. Thanks!

Wisdom Wisdom says:

Awesome job thank you

Smooth Gamer says:

Thank you was hoping I wouldnt gave to remove in order to reach it but u made it look easy. Very helpful

Randy Randerson says:

Tried my best! Took 6 hours including 3 trips to a tool/hardware store. Couldn't crack that crank nut! broke my 1/4 to 3/8 adapter!
