This was great!. Just an fyi.. My hose was a PITA to get off. and the bolts
for the thermostat housing were at an angle (99 integra) which made it a
little harder to get off.

Todd Hecker says:

What about scraping off some of the old gasket and cleaning it up? Gasket
sealant?

Great video! The thermostat housing for my D15Z8 is smaller and located
closer to the header cover, but the general directions works just fine =)
Thanks!

Wondering if you would help me out. My car keeps running hot and smoking
(white smoke under the hood). Just had the thermostat changed (supposedly).
Also had some other things done but its still doing it. It’s also idling
too high so that when I have my foot on the brake the car roars and whn I
take my foot off the brake it takes off by itself. … it’ll keep taking
off then pausing, taking off then pausing without stop. Any ideas?

Tony Casazza says:

Thank you very much for the video. I have a 1995 Accord LX and the
thermostat was in the same location. The bolt locations were slightly
different from your car and one of the locations was behind the bracket
bolt, so I had to remove the bracket bolt first and then I could reach it
with my ratchet. Thank you again for the video!

Ramon Munoz says:

thank you for great video and it help me alot.

TheMrParlow says:

It should definitely help with the heater, A lot of heat issues are
directly related to the thermostat.

htowngoonies says:

that hose isnt the drain/outlet. thats the inlet hose lol

kingsley Chan says:

Great tutorial! well done to point out the locations of the bolts and to
warn us of the potential mess! Really helped with my change as well!

Gabriel85885 says:

Dude, this is one of the best videos I ‘ve seen on
YouTube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did not leave any details out regarding
the change of the Thermostat. Also, it is very impresive how easy you make
it seem. Wow, YouTube is amazing! Thanks bro!

Thanks for your video! I have a 91 Honda Accord and it’s been overheating
(the secondary cooling fan would come on more frequently) for some time
now. I checked the radiator for leaks, I would have to fill it a couple of
times with 50/50 coolant cause the level would be low again after driving
it a day or two. Just yesterday while driving for 20 minutes, the hose
that’s connected to the thermostat and the other end to the bottom of the
radiator blew. Was this due to a possible bad thermostat?

Robert Blevins says:

hey, mind helping me out? I have a leak just beyond this part you were
replacing. the leak came from a big hose and there are 2 smaller hoses
right beside it. there was coolant in the hoses, trying to figure out what
the part is called.

Mechanicsville804 says:

Nicely done. I’m confident I’ll be able to do this to my civic here
shortly.

Joe Ziegler says:

This video is brilliant! Thank you so much. I took a little longer than 10
minuets but you were helpful beyond measure. Great job! Look forward to
future videos.

Question that maybe u might know, I have a 95 integra, have a new radiator,
new thermostat, and im still having some overheating issues after my car is
running for awhile. While my car is in park and is starts to overheat if i
press the gas the gauge quickly shoots back down, any reason to y that
could be? Could it be the water pump that i would have to replace next? Any
advice would be helpful! Thanks!
