The rear doors of my 1994 honda accord make a screeching sound when locked
and unlocked, would it be the lock actuators?

Rachi Nigraucity says:

Do you have info re: 1992 honda accord for the removal of left rear door
panel ?

soldier095 says:

Could you do a video on how to replace the door latch on a 2005 Chevrolet
Cobalt? I can open and lock/unlock the door but i can’t close it.

David boone says:

Do I have to take off the door locking mechanism in order to remove the
door actuator because I stripped the screw and cant get the door locking
mechanism to come down?

Doran Harney says:

The driver door lock (and only the driver door lock) is supposed to be that
way…it even mentions that in the owners manual. Unfortunately, I am
unable to comment as to why they thought this would be a good functionality
to include.

The car has manual locks.

Doug Davis says:

1996 Accord EX – Before and after replacing the driver’s side door
actuator, I have to pull the door handle and THEN press the door lock
switch to lock the vehicle. I was told this was a common issue among these
Honda’s, but I’ve never seen that before on any other vehicle. Also, my
back doors won’t lock or unlock unless I manually push up or down on the
lock. As far the battery-operated “clicker”, I don’t have one.

1A Auto Parts says:

@MrLanging There is a video for the driver front as well.

503challenger says:

You are the bomb dude..GREAT job. Thank’s

Cirano Ortiz says:

I have a 2010 Honda Civic DX has not wanted Locks saver if I can use
actuators ex 2010 civic lx or want RECOMMEND Locks

1A Auto Parts says:

HI David, Yes you would need to remove the latch in order to service the
door lock actuator. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

KevBik says:

This seems to be a very popular subject for Honda Owners! I am on door #2
on our 03 Honda Accord 4dr with a bad actuator. For me, it’s frustrating to
even attempt this fix due to the lack of visibility in the door once the
splash shield is peeled back. I had the first one installed by a friend,
but want to try it myself this round.

You’re welcome thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows that particular
repair. You may be able to apply some of the basic removal procedures to
your later model year. Hope this helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to take the door panel off to see if the rods or cables
connected to the door handle are catching on anything inside of the door.

1A Auto Parts says:

@soldier095 We currently do not have an auto repair video on this
particular application. We’ll keep this in mind in case we make this type
of repair in the future on one of these vehicles.

1A Auto Parts says:

@mrexecutive1 You should still be able to unlock the doors by hand from the
inside. If you think they are stuck trying pulling up on the lock while
working the outside door handle. (Sometimes the inside does not work due to
child safety locks.)

bowlingballout says:

I need to do this on my 2001 Honda CRV Front driver’s side door.

mvt1974 says:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I was afraid I would break that plastic
pivot (near the front of the door) but you show just popping it out of the
hole. Your videos are very helpful, and I will be buying replacement parts
from you.

Dave Kube says:

Hello!…I have a question regarding my 1992 honda accord ex…The issue
i’m having is that i have to partially open (about half way) either the
interior or exterior door handle to lock/unlock the drivers door manually.
This sometimes confuses the auto door lock system. Is this a problem with
the lock itself and it needs to be replaced or is it an adjustment issue?
#Scratching head#

mrexecutive1 says:

Question for you, how do you get the rear doors open if the actuators have
failed and the door locks dont budge?

MrLanging says:

1994 Accord: The day you posted I was trying to figure out why the driver’s
side key could lock all of the four locks, but then continued repetitively
trying to lock itself again, endlessly. I discovered your video two days
later. . . thanks! But is the driver’s mechanism much different from the
rear door? Is that why you demonstrated on the rear?

nicatrucho75 says:

Your video was very helpful to me. Thanks again for helping me find the
problem to RR Passenger door actuator to my 2005 Accord LX Sedan.

joshoohuhh says:

I replaced my actuator on my 94 honda accord thanks to this video. I have
no experience in car repair and I needed no other instructions. Thanks a
lot for your help!

1A Auto Parts says:

@EMYRONH Not yet but will add to list.

ljackson9415 says:

on my honda the child safety lock is locked and i cant open the door,
inside or outside. How do i get the door open???

1A Auto Parts says:

@ljackson9415 You may need to take the door panel off, and see if something
broke inside of the door.

1A Auto Parts says:

It might be, or the locks might be rubbing on something causing the noise.

Loon Teu says:

Hi, May i know if the same procedure works for Honda Accord 2001 sedan rear
passenger side actuator?

platofan07 says:

Great video that helped me replacing the rear passenger side door lock
actuatoron my 1996 Honda Civic. It turned out I had to take off the door
handle, which is connected to the actuator assembly. So you may want to
search the video for that. Also, the special screwdriver (bit) to take off
the screws for the lock can be substituted with a standard socket wrench
set, by inserting a standard screwdriver bit into the socket (you can try
whichever size that matches).

jessrcastilloable says:

My 94 accord power locks dnt wrk at all no noise or anything i gt the car
like this could there just be a bad fuse or relay kinda odd al of um dnt
wrk or wht could it be thans for the help love ur videos makes thing way
easy

Vladimir Yasmenko says:

Thank You very Much for the useful video on how to take out the rear door
lock-motor 🙂 It really helped me and saved me lots of time on my 97
Accord. My lock motor began making a loud noise every time I’d lock the
door, so I took it off, took it apart, reattached some rubber piece that
fell of inside of the actuator, cleaned it, and put it back together. Now
everything is back to normal 🙂

Travis Copas says:

Thanks for the video! I’ve been wanting to know how to do this for a while
now.

1A Auto Parts says:

We carry door lock actuators for your Civic on our website 1aauto.com
888-844-3393 If that’s what you’re looking for.

mrexecutive1 says:

Thanks again!

1A Auto Parts says:

You could first check both distribution boxes (one under the hood and the
other in the side of the dash) and go from there. You will end up having to
open up the door to access the actuator by the latch just like you saw in
the video.
