I just put lsd in my Honda civic again ( this is a tranny I picked up in PA. It has the 3.25 final drive ratio and it’s geared for low highway rpm’s ). I’ve already got the tranny apart, enjoy!

MPFJAX- I only run pennzoil synchromesh. it’s in a yellow quart bottle, and
you will need at least 2 quarts to fill a d-series tranny. I get mine at
o’rielllys for about $8 each. the part number is synchromesh.
From memory, I think the springs are like 120 psi, I’ve driven over 12000
miles on my first tranny I’ve done this to without any issues. This video
is from my second tranny.

Do it right the first time but real lsd ma boy.
if you’re grinding going into gear, you may have bad synchros, or the outer
edge of the 3rd gear’s teeth may be messed up. Third gear usually gets hit
the hardest when you’re beating on a manual tranny. The 1-2 shift gets more
torque and wheelspin , but you pull the shifter to you. the 2 – 3 shift
gets all your weight behind it and hits internally with more torque as the
gears mesh. You’ll probably have to get in there and dig around to see
what’s really going on.
Really well put together video. I’m debating buying this or not. I have an
LS (b18b) on 10 pounds of boost, and I’m about to do my syncros , should I
put this in? I’m afraid that it might not hold the power. Lemme know what

Im running a civic EX d16y8 and i have a problem with my tranny now.. I
replaced some bearings because there was a noise. After that the tranny
started to make a “clank” noise when i release first gear, second and
third. Reverse does too… My mech told me that it was differential problem
so i decided to invest into a MFactory LSD, really good one… But the
“Clank” noise remains.. now we have the tranny down and he said i need to
get new gears and synchros… Is there any way that he messed up the tranny
when he replaced bearings at the first time?? Any clue? Anything that he
forgot or lost to reassamble?

Thanks a ton bro. Only reason I asked you is because this LSD video you
made is pretty awesome. You did a top notch job, very detailed and
descriptive and I figured I might as well add that too while the
transmission is off and I’m figuring out what is messed up. It’s a jdm b18c
swap the guys before me didn’t really take care of the car I’m trying to
get her back to being nasty, so again thanks for the help.

How much initial torque do the blocks hold? How durable and reliable are
they?
Can you replace transmission slines? My axle popped out halfway from a bad
motor mount. Got a new axle and motor mount. Changed everything and now it
jumps when you try and take off as if the splines aren’t lining up
my gearbox keeps grttin while going into 3rd gear..what do you think cud
cause that?? i also wanna install a LSD if i drop the gearbox
