This video will show how to install an after market radio in a 2000 Honda Odyssey.
This is the same body style from 1999 to 2004.
We had to splice in the new connector and will show you what wires make the correct connections for speaker wire plus positive continuous power, negative and switched power.
We made a major mistake by not disconnecting the battery. As a result, the fuse was blown when the old wire connector was cut off. But the good thing is that we will show you how to trouble shoot the problem.
Where is this guy from with his accent and his use of words to describe things: chaps, she, guys….. ?!?!?!??
Great video. I now have high confidence that I could do this. Love the well done close ups and all the detail, especially the wiring part. Bravo.
Thank you so much, i´ve saved hours! very helpfull the notes to all we not english speakers.
This leprechaun knows his stuff
Man, can you describe me the colours, because i dont see when you put it togueter what colour is
You ruined your car.
You don’t know how to install an aftermarket radio. You DO NOT cut the factory wiring to the original radio. They make an wiring kit that you buy that plugs into the factory wiring and you wire your new radio into that. Anyone watching this please don’t listen to him. Do not cut the wiring to the original radio. Spend the $10 for the wiring kit. Professionals don’t cut the factory plug ever.
good job man, don't listen to the haters, you did a great job, thanks for the information!
NEWS FLASH – Cut through a bunch of wires all at once with a METAL wire cutter… especially when you know one is a ground and the other is a constant 12v source … you're going to pop a fuse.
LMAO
WOW!!! It makes sooooo much sense to cut all the oem wires and spend that much more time hardwiring the new head unit!!!! That way, if the customer later decides on a different brand of head unit, all that crap has to be done over again. For future reference, spend the $5 and get the Metra 70-1721 harness; work smarter, not harder.
Haha no mames no sabe este wey! Mejor pago jale profesional haha
I have the navigation system installed as well. Can. I keep that and install the new radio??
Hey guys Thanks for your effort. You should get the harness connector…bla bla bla. REALLY I think that ANY mod. and I do mean ANY mod to these vans spells TROUBLE. SO many people are reporting ( odeyssey fourms) that AFTER a "MOD" or "Upgrade part" they are having very bad problems. Why not just drive the van how it came and save yourself money and time from a mistake that you WILL make. Even master tool turners make mistakes either by miss reading a diagram or it was the "other guys" fault. Take it to a quality rated shop if you want a new radio or LED lights. These a not simple vans to work on. I want to say also, stay AWAY from any cheap test lights they are dangerous and WILL FRY your computers out. I just care to maybe save YOU from $300 or $400 or more on a repair that you could have avoided. Don't watch how to videos and then expect to know "how to" do it…just don't..
You need to delete this video because you are a fucking IDIOT! Why would you hack the harness to hell when for $10 you can buy a harness you wire to radio that just plugs into van….. FUCKING MORONS!
I have 2 wires brown key
Wrong info never cut your wires buy radio kit it will have the plug you need
