Jesse Allen says:

What about the O Ring seal on top of the v tec solenoid

Aspire198 says:

The plug hole gaskets should've been checked. On my Honda motorcycle the valve cover gasket was brand new but the plug hole gaskets were ancient, guess which ones were leaking……..

VGAPR Garage says:

You call it an oil leak. In the salt belt we call it rust prevention

fuzzy wuzzy says:

VTECs going to kick in yo!

luke bornemann says:

When that vtec kick in yo.

had to replace the valve cover of my car a few weeks ago and damn was the old one hardned. It wasn't even slightly flexible anymore, it was like hard plastic. Getting the valve cover was also a real pita due to that as it all had backed onto the cylinder head.

mikkei says:

nice work but Daniel why you didn't clean that messy parts ?

Kai Baumgartner says:

My 97 LS400 with 286k still has the original FIPG gasket done at the factory….way better then a traditional gasket for durability and longevity. It's just now starting to get wet around the area but not leak.

Pablo's Reef says:

Great video. Did you replace the coil and nut gaskets? Those can also cause a leak into the spark plug well.

QuadroNVS says:

look at that valve cover!!! someone is skipping oil change intervals or that engine has been operating above its normal operating temp

Jake from State Farm says:

Erh meh gawwd!! Leaking gaskets? On a 200,000+ mile car? Unacceptable!!!!

Sorry, domestic nut-swingers, but the "domestics" still have a lot to learn. I'd rather change a gasket here and there rather than change engines, swap rear ends and rebuild the transmission three times before I can actually drive my car. How many bail-outs has Honda had again?

MAP74 says:

The undercarriage needs a wash. But if rust is a problem in that part of the country maybe that oil coating is a good thing.

Ben Ross says:

Surprised you haven't broke more bolts using an impact on everything like that

Brian Mulligan says:

Good instructor ! Lot of info. Thanks!

Lustfulvengance says:

A lot of those gaskets that get hardened and leak are from a lack of oil changes, the dirt and acidic contaminates in the oil destroy the elasticity of the rubber.

Polin Mileg says:

Some people saying get a Chevy to avoid oil leaks. GM perfected the technique of rust prevention by way of oil leaks. Motors will run for a long time , but if it ain't leaking it's because it's empty!

Reg L says:

Having to change valve cover gaskets on a vehicle with 230,000 miles is pretty good and should be considered regular maintenance. The Honda started strong, ran smooth and had no warning lights on, should be good for another 100,000 miles.
